YOU GUYS IT’S SO GOOD

I JUST HAD A CRAZY EPIC BOSS “FIGHT” DURING WHICH I NEVER SO MUCH GOT ATTACKED AND IT WAS THE BEST

G O A T

Ha! That’s the same problem i have. It’s why I’ve started Skyrim like 6 or 7 times and even though I’ve put about 200 hours into it, haven’t finished it.

So my joycon isn’t drifitng, it’s intermittently not moving my toon when I press the left thumbstick downward. Anyone had this happen or find a fix? It gets stuck like this then it works for 15 seconds then it gets stuck or acts sluggish again. For example: in Animal Crossing I can’t make my toon run to the bottom of my island consistently.

I get hit with drift every few months. As I’ve mentioned in this thread, cleaning under the joycon rubber skirts with rubbing alcohol, then contact cleaner, had worked a wonder every time except once. Nintendo repair on that one.

My relatively frequent issues may be due to some remodeling in my house. Lot of dust and fine particles is the air. Not sure.

Haven’t had an issue quite like yours. But try this method as it’s cheap and harmless.

I’ve had that happen. Simply removing it from the switch and reattaching fixed it.

I kept the Switch i was going to give to my Niece and Nephew. I also bought Zelda for the nephew but my sister forgot it last Christmas in the pile, so i finally fired it up again. But i was also listening to philosophy stuff while playing, so now i associate Max Tegmark and his multiverse theories with climbing those towers in Zelda.

I’ve still got a pile of PS4 games to get through - i’m still not done with Uncharted 4 or Last of Us 1.

Honestly, I would recommend calling Nintendo for a repair. When I had issues with one Joycon dropping connection, they responded and repaired it quickly. I have no idea what the situation is like now though.

Until it’s fixed, maybe buy an extra pair of Joycons?

Did you know they are bitter?

Will do!

I had the drifting problem with two sets of joycons now. No Nintendo support here, alas, so I’m left to buying a new set (too expensive right now) or figuring out a way to fix it…

Does it happen if your joycons are right next to the switch?

Yeah, it’s very clearly a “mechanical” thing, so to speak. Probably something wrong with contacts or sensors inside. I’ll try some of the hints like contact cleaning and whatnot… nothing to lose, I suppose.

If you don’t fear working on electronics, I fixed 2 joycons with these iFixit kits. Good as new now. It’s really not that hard to do - most difficult thing is being careful with the ribbon cable connectors.

Oh so people know what the problem is! Are they hard to take apart? That’s the hardest part of cell phone replacement imo (the super glue)

Way easier than a cell phone. Just some screws. That kit I linked includes a brand new Nintendo joystick - the things just wear out based on how hard you are on them. Here’s the step by step guide with photos:

Yeah I saw the pick. So no need to heat and melt glue?

Nope! The battery is stuck with sticky tape that peels right up.

The Youtube algorithm deity recently forced me to watch a video of a guy attempting to fix 18 joycons. You can see how easily they open up here:

Paper Mario Treehouse on now.

Apparently the villain is Christo.
