The game is buggy as hell on PS4 right now, though. I don’t like how complicated doing anything is now, either. But still lots of fun.

Bought and downloading. :-)
The Multiplayer patch notes were pretty vague. Anyone have more info? I think the big question is:
Can you see more than more 4 avatars in the game at the same time?
EDIT: Reddit is unclear. Best guess I saw was 4 people grouped in an instance with 16 people total. That is not yet conclusively confirmed!
Got patched shortly after it became available and have played several hours since.
Started new and have progressed to where I got off my toxic starting planet and have visited a couple more including one “lush” world which is now home to my cabin/base. I have a warp drive but nothing to fuel it with.
I know 3rd person is getting a lot of love but for me, meh. I used it to go into the ‘change appearance’ machine at the space station and play around with it but I’d much rather play this game 1st person for some reason.
Going to take some getting used to the wholesale changes to elements and resources and new items and recipes. But so far one thing has let to another pretty smoothly and it was fairly easy to intuit a couple other things.
I’m very grateful that the Z-menu items for planetary machinery can now be picked up, packed away and re-used. That’s huge. Only wish the new refiner didn’t lose the fuel in it when you pick it up.
Something else I picked up on. It sounds like paying attention to the ‘type’ of economy in a system (beyond ‘low’, ‘medium’ and ‘high’ economy) is going to be a big moneymaking factor. It’s suggesting you can buy low and sell high at the space stations based on economic types. And you’ll only find certain items for sale in certain economies.
Can’t wait to figure out how to meet some of you! (PC)
Dammit, no multiplayer for the GOG version for now, and even when it does happen, it won’t work with the Steam version by all accounts. :-(
(Unrelated: When is this damn Android Chrome bug with Discourse going to be fixed??? It drives me to distraction.)
I think you keep the fuel, it goes in your inventory at the same time as the refiner.

How much do you like an easily understood interface?
1 being you don’t care at all.
10 being if it isn’t obvious, I won’t play it.
I’m floating around eight and nine right now.
From what I heard, it’s the same 16 player orb system they had in Atlas update, but with up to 4 player models for your group/randoms.
Does this game utilize the d-pad a lot? I only have a Xbox 360 controller with the shitty d-pad.
Mostly for UI shortcuts and navigating the quick menus etc

I think the only thing you really use it for is the quick menu, and maybe building things.

And after a good 5 hours with 1.5, my main issue is back with a vengeance.
THE GRIND…
I wish they would have allowed for more sprint and or jet pack time. As it is I am lazy so I get in my ship to take trips around the planet’s POI’s but that sucks up fuel. And for some reason they still think its fun to grind resources to make fuel, its not. Then having to keep refilling the mining laser / teraformer is wearing on my patience also. :P
Seems I am gonna make it to that 6-7 hour mark like I did with 1.3 and 1.4 and call it quits again, heh.
Maybe I should just switch from normal to the super causal mode. But then no achievements!
I spent a few hours with the new patch today and, yep, it’s like a brand new experience. I had to start about 5 games on Survival mode before I survived long enough to make it to my ship. Behold!
Fun getting hooked all over again.

How do I remove pieces from a base?
You go to the building interface, and it should say press “something” to delete it. I think it was backspace but I can’t remember.
I’m not seeing it, playing on the PS4, but maybe I’m just not looking in the right place. Maybe I should check the guide…
Edit: yup, I just wasn’t paying attention. L2 gets the delete/color menu.
