Yeah, I think that whatever else can be said, they have made some tremendous efforts considering the size of their team. Their credits fit in a single screen.
I’m expecting they’ll keep getting the huge amount of bugs out of the way. I’m also not a fan of many of the dozens of decisions they made that muddle up the game. Even then, I still think No Man’s Sky is something special. I hope their story will be remembered as a positive one for the industry with their years of continuous efforts at adding free stuff turning opinions around from the considerable negativity at launch.
I wonder what the community events are going to be? I hope it’s not going to make the game too MMO-y.
I was wondering about that and searched on it. Seems like it might be a bug to be addressed as it is not showing up initially on the Blueprint Computer that you can build and feed a certain type of ‘module’ to purchase blueprints for your base. Apparently if you buy enough of the ones that do show up they will be replaced and eventually you’ll see one for storage containers you can purchase.

How/where do you get plans for storage containers. Could use some :)
I think they’ll be focused around the community, and the Galactic Atlas; things that would bring players to the community hubs.
They’ll reward the Quicksilver currency, which you’ll use to purchase emotes and other customizations. Eventually the rewards will expand to things like ships. They’ve said new content is coming with the weekly updates too, but whether or not that will specifically be content for the new currency is unknown.
Oh, so that’s what that currency is. Is there a link on that?

Question:
Is it possible to actually do the quests on the ps4 that involve taking a photo?
I’ve taken photos, but it never seems to complete the quests
It was mentioned in one of the slew of previews/interviews, saying how this new currency was not microtransaction-based but was awarded from in-game community events. Don’t recall the link, sorry. :)

Oh shoot, i just warped into a system where a battle was taking place, saved the freighter, and the Gek Commander just gave it to me for free. Now i have a huge star destroyer looking ship and a fleet of frigates.
This is pretty cool.
I don’t know, it worked for me on the first time. Are you sure you’re on the right kind of planet?
It’s this one:
Hurray! Today’s Xbox patch fixed my broken save files, now all my progress is back.
Aside from that hiccup, I’m loving this game (as long as I can keep my brain turned off for the ridiculous asteroid fields, the idiotic planetary systems, and the lack of space physics).

What type of planet is it specifically looking for? It just says “strange planet”. Also, are you just taking a photo with the “share” button when in camera mode?
Hooray, I finally got to the point where I built my first rudimentary shelter on the second, “nice” planet with mild climate, chill sentries, non aggressive fauna, low radiation etc.
How do I get exosuit inventory upgrades again? At space stations? And what are all the nanites for?
Inventory space upgrades come from drop pods - but now you have to ‘repair’ the pods first to be able to access them. It may not be feasible immediately since it needs (amongst other things) 1 antimatter, which you’re unlikely to have yet.
The nanites you can spend at space station marketplaces on upgrade modules and blueprints. Just follow the game’s guide and it’ll look after you. :)
edit: you can also buy 1 inventory space upgrade from the marketplace on each station.
Is there some way to mark an outpost to remember it’s location. I just found a really nice multi-tool and I’d like to come back and buy it but I can see a way to mark this base so I can come back to it.
You have to build a beacon if you want a permanent marker on a planet.
For a temporary marker, you can ‘tag’ an icon (or place a custom icon), via the scan visor. But you can only have 1 tag at a time I think, and these clear once you visit them.
Also if you’re referring to a trade outpost, these are always visible on your compass once discovered as a red icon at top of screen.
Weird, after futzing around on my second planet I was urged to go to the space station in the system. I did, ended up getting coordinates to s distress signal but now my ship won’t take off and leave the station. When I pull the trigger all I get is a beep and nothing happens. I’ve got plenty of launch and pulse drive fuel, so what gives?
Try holding trigger for a few seconds? It should launch if you keep holding it.
Yes, I did a search and you’re right. That was silly of me. Now I’m wondering about these fabled “job boards” at space stations. I haven’t found one at the only one I know about. Bunch of Korvax standing around, a trading terminal, some upgrade selling guys, the appearance modifier, but no bulletin board with jobs. What does it look like?
The station has two sides, try go up the other stairs. But the mission board is closed at the station in the starting system anyway. ;)
Seriously? How in the heck am I ever going to make enough scratch to buy the warp drive components (it looks like that’s my main quest for now)? I did find one CPU out in the world, but it looks like the other 4 required are close to 100 grand each. Of course there’s one planet I’ve yet to explore…
