Is it a tiny white box? If so, that’s just a decoration. They’re trolling players by putting it in the same category.
The real ones are big and have the same blue “eye” as stores do.
Since the latest patch on Thursday, it feels like I get a lot of massive framerate drops and stuttering. This is on a 1080 and an i7 6700 with 16GB DDR4, with a G-Sync monitor. Anyone else seeing this, and is there a way to ameliorate it?

I haven’t had any framerate drops and we apparently have cloned computers, because that’s exactly what I’m running!

Can you remove built items, like that “fake” storage I made?
Sure. There is a delete key / button. Are you on keyboard or controller? Should be fairly easy to find in the controls.
I ended up dropping some of the settings (shadows and soemthing else), and am playing around with setting a max framerate below what the monitor can do.
BTW, why is it that during my last visit with Polo, he/she said they gave me an Atlas Pass 1 and yet I go to one of the cylindrical containers that requires it but can’t open it? Anyone know what I’m missing? Is it that I haven’t warped to a new system since?
You need to craft it afaik

I using a keyboard. Looking at the storage unit and hitting delete does nothing.

I don’t know how it works on a PC, but when you enter construction mode on the PS4 you are offered the opportunity to delete a object in front of you with messaging at the base of the screen.
He gave the recipe. You have to craft it in the backpack menu.

In my current play-through I’m at a fairly early stage. The first couple of times I met Polo and Nada I was tested on a couple of milestone progress things. In the past Nada would have a bunch more tests every time I met him subsequently. Now whenever I meet Nada he just offers to sell me some kind of tech. What’s up with that?
I think your problem is that you specifically have to select his mission in the log to progress. It’s still a milestone thing, but with a timer between steps.

Two things:
If this is a real storage container than it gives you a new inventory screen, accessible via the tab key like all inventories.
If you want to destroy anything you built, go into the Z build menu and then hold control. One mouse click and the item will be instantly destroyed. This function is labeled at the bottom of the Z build menu.

Oh yeah, that is annoying. Some quests only advance when selected, but others are fine regardless. Totally illogical.
Weird. Now I see that, but when I was looking last night nether the v1 nor the v3 were showing up in the craftables at all, grrr.
Now I’m at some ancient buried ruin where I’ve run into my first Gravitino Balls, one of which seems to be inside an object and thus inaccessible. Found a bunch of keys but no obvious lock. Le sigh.

The lock is there as a buried artifact on your visor.
So I had in excess of 10M credits saved up the other day and I’m already flying about in an A class Fighter but it’s low on storage so I thought about how I could get into a decent Hauler. And now with the ability to keep multiple starships I didn’t want to trade but just buy and start a collection.
One of the first things I noticed was how out of line the costs are for Haulers. Seem to be very expensive for the ones with the most storage. Then I happened upon a wrecked ship and it turned out to be an A-class Hauler with 35 slots or so. It doesn’t seem to be good business to try and repair these wrecks but I added it and then went and inspected it in my Freighter hangar.
It turned out that, even wrecked (I repaired only the Pulse Engine) it had good trade-in value so I took it to a different system (Gek, Wealthy) to look for a decent Hauler or maybe an Exotic. I found my first ever S-class ship (non-Exotic) and made the deal. I think I got 15M value for my wreck and then out of pocket another 5M or so. S-class Hauler but unfortunately with only 32 slots and only 5 tech slots. Still… S-class Hauler! I’m loving it.
During my next playing session I happened to see an Exotic come into the space station as I was preparing to leave and I did a quick check on it. I got it for like 6M units… that seems crazy cheap. But now I feel like I’m well covered. I’ll keep this small Hauler until I can upgrade into a 48 slotter somewhere down the road but it’s a lot more than either my fighter or my exotic has. The fighter is an awesome dogfighting machine. The Exotic I’m treating like an Explorer since it has a crazy Warp bonus.
I’m needing to scrape up some more nanites to be able to furnish both my new ships with a slew of upgrades. Unrelated to buying new ships I had also just recently come across an A-class 24 slot multi-tool so I’d been upgrading and outfitting that. Am going with the Blaze Javelin and notice they have changed it a bit for NEXT. To get max damage from the Javelin hold down the trigger button (left mouse) and let the charge build and release it at the end. Pretty sure it wasn’t like that before. More than anything I’m really missing the A and S class upgrades to the scanner on my last multi-tool… I was getting like 150k - 250k units just for scanning Fauna; that has become my main moneymaker.
Yeah, I found that which was an entirely different thing. The Gravitino Ball in question was just invisible for some reason, as I discovered by accident when I got a prompt to interact with it while pixel hunting. :-/
Anyway, finally crafted the Atlas Pass level 1. I have a recipe for a level 3 but it requires emeril, which I’m unlikely to see soon.
BTW @tylertoo sorry I missed the notification to let you watch my game, I didn’t see the pop-up I guess…
Got some random friend req on Steam from “The worst” which I trust isn’t anyone on here, is it?

In a multi-story base, is there a way to put a hole in the ceiling of a room without using a ladder? I hate the ladders and would rather jet pack up and down.
