Very nice.

I just have the first one, but do Exocraft serve a useful purpose for you guys? The weapon seems very weak and the mining laser isn’t great either. It just feels weird that my exocraft vehicle is completely outclassed by my meh-grade multitool.

Wow, impressive list of fixes.

Woohoo!!! I just finally maxxed out my pre-NEXT Exosuit with 48 General, 12 Tech and 25 Cargo. It will be nice to add a couple more Tech and get up to 48 Cargo.

Awww, bummer. I kinda liked that I’d come back to a different crew depending on what system I was in. They would always be nervous at first, but I would act as if I didn’t even notice because I am all about the KGVT+ acceptance. My freighter is always a safe space for everyone!

Found 3 Gravitino Balls and 3 Ancient Keys. Cool. After dinner will look for the Ancient Crate.

When I got the three star wanted rating from the sentinels I had a flashback to GTA. :)

I stopped using exocrafts when I noticed custom waypoints aren’t visible when in the craft.

Umm, OK, something screwy is going on.

  1. On the planet on which I have my base, suddenly I notice that a whole mess of new waypoints have been discovered on it, and they’ve got red dots next to them. Supposedly a “Mr. Photon” discovered them. In itself that’s not completely impossible (I don’t remember if I was playing that night, but I may have been, and maybe he dropped into my game.) The weird part is that a lot of those 11 waypoints he discovered that night were found three or four at a time within the same minute. Like all at 10:25 PM or something. That makes no sense, because they don’t register as discovered till you land, get out of your ship and interact with the pole. At least he found the two fauna I hadn’t, and I got the 500 nanite bonus for hitting the paw icon.

  2. Tonight, just now, I was fighting some NPC bandits in space, and suddenly I see a blue player icon. He’s flying in my immediate vicinity. He even texts me in game. I didn’t know how to text back so he kind of buggered off. I check my network options, and I’ve got network play off. Also, I’m invisible on Steam. So how the hell is this guy in my game? Now it’s true that I turned network play off after I started playing, but still, how?

Turning off network play seems to require a game restart or something. I turned mine off and my guest remained, in any case.

This, you need to start the game fresh after turning off network play.

I don’t think there’s any use for exocraft at all.

it dont beat walkin’?

It don’t beat flyin’.

Could the time stamp be applied only when the user is ‘connected’ to the online database or something? Seems to me more than half the time I show as being ‘disconnected’ which is fine because I assume the time comes along eventually and uploads all the discoveries I’m waiting to upload.

Actually I think you’re right–that must be it. I myself don’t usually let 4 or 5 discoveries go without uploading them (especially with waypoints) but it may not be up to the player when it actually registers on the host end. I always wonder why even though the discoveries screen shows that I’ve “lost connection” I still get nanites for uploading discoveries. That may just be something that happens whether connected or not, and you don’t really get discovery credit until the upload happens.

beats swimmin’!

But now you don’t need to harvest anything from seafloor in NEXT, that may be a more marginal use

Anyone have a problem where Vortex Cubes won’t stack to five? I’ll get one and then inventory full.

I’ve experienced this too. Seems like you need at least two inventory slots, one for the Vortex Cubes to stack in, and an empty one so you can pick up more. I’m guessing it’s a bug.

I think that the deal with Vortex Cubes is that for every one of those you pick up you also get a Tetracobalt. So if you’ve only got one inventory slot free that may be a problem.

Ah, that explains the Tetracobalt’s I sometimes see in my inventory and don’t recall picking up or creating.

Played a bit over the weekend expanding my knowledge of commodity blueprints by raiding manufacturing plants and operations centers. Did some space trucking while at it, and have finally accumulated the 120mil units it will take to buy my perfect 48-slot A-Class fan-wing hauler should I ever actually see it in the wilds.

Getting kind of bored with the trading/crafting grind though, so I’m going to pack up and head in closer to the galactic core. Time to finish up those last couple of Atlas Path combines and take the plunge through the black hole to whatever lies beyond. I’d also like to start building a nice base (versus the functional but ugly one I have now), and I’d rather do that on a really nice planet closer to the center, preferably on a nice trade route too.

Thanks!
