Ehhh , it might have a subnautica look, but I get the feel that its just eye candy under the sea.
I like that they’re continuing to iterate on the visual aspect, but don’t they break the game every time they do it because it changes the procedural generation? Like, the utopian paradise planet I built a base on suddenly becomes a barren, frozen murderball?

Wow! So when is that coming?

Haven’t played for a bit. This will bring me back.
I’ll be back in.
Still looking forward to a big fauna overhaul though! I’m sure that will come at some point.
That’s at least a little of that in this update- the trailer mentioned ‘new life forms’ and there was what looked like some sort of burrowing creature.
I broke down and bought it for my brother for his birthday, it being on sale on Xbone right now.
Even more great additions cant wait. Shame they dont say when its coming though.

When its done obviously. Looks mighty interesting to me :D NMS replaced Subnautica as my boys’ favourite game to watch/co-pilot.
Article on The Verge dated today said that it is coming ‘tomorrow’. Thanksgiving seems lore a strange day to drop a patch like this, but perhaps they wanted people to play over the long weekend.
Confirmed. Coming out tomorrow. Patch notes are included.
I’m deep into Bard’s Tale IV right now, but there is enough interesting stuff in this update that I may have to dedicate one night a week to returning to NMS for a bit. I still haven’t built a new base post-NEXT, and some of the new salvage stuff and collectible alien artifacts might make doing so worthwhile now.
Kinda wish they’d put some new ships into the game, though I could see them saving that for a DLC they can charge for.

Is it coming out on Console tomorrow too?
Most recent NMS patches have been released simultaneously on all platforms, haven’t they? I couldn’t find confirmation but I suppose it should be out tomorrow for PC, PS4 and XBONE.
Looks like I’ll be starting a new game. Again. I actually don’t mind, the changes make it a fresh experience.
Is a new start required? If not, why start over?
I want to get back into this, but the grind is holding me back. I wish there was a mod that would simply double my resource haul or cut the cost of everything in half, frankly I wouldn’t care if its cheating as I’m just not feeling the return on effort right now.
I’m 41 hours in and don’t have the beacon yet, to place at places I want to return. That’s one frustration.
I spend a whole evening searching for nanites and get… 16?
I start building a base but it takes 1-2 hours of mining or searching to build a single room or panel.
I know, I don’t have to play that way and can just fly around. But I’d like a nice base and nice ships too.

Wow. It seems like you’re really cursed. I always seem to have more nanites than I need. Do a mission for 100 or so at a time, click on a random derelict station for 20, get them randomly by chatting or trading with aliens at depots and space stations, use your portable scanner thingy to find encrypted signals and pick up bunches at operations facilities and the like…
As for base materials, on virtually any random semi-hospitable planet there’s likely all the low level base facility resources you need in line of sight. Iron boulders and so on. Plus if you plant your base near a depot or outpost, you can just buy all your resources from the galactic trade thingy a few steps away… It’s true that collecting it all is a pain, I’m not saying the game isn’t too grindy, but it’s not that hard. Half an hour or so should do you for a starting base. You might have to spend another 15 minutes cruising around looking for copper to mine and refine if you can’t just buy the chromatic ore that you need.
Yeah I know its possible to have a few unsuccessful days in a row in any crafting game, but I seem to be getting quite a few. I also don’t have the advanced refiner and I lack high-profile item blueprints too. Actually now that I think about it I have very few blueprints at all, maybe one of my other issues.
