Hell, they’ve made a bunch of those quest chains completely optional. Atlas Passes V1, V2, etc? You can just buy them on the anomaly. Base blueprints? Buy them on the anomaly. etc. Which means you don’t have to go through the whole base building quest to get vehicles. You can just buy the platform bp on the anomaly. Cut through the tedium if you’ve done it all before.
Okay l, after playing twith the ExoMech for a bit, I’m… underwhelmed. The controls are not good at all, and far worse when you’re in cockpit view- which is important because most of my time playing is in PSVR, and cockpit view is essential.
All the vehicles drive using ‘Halo-style’ controls. Meaning, you don’t actually control the movement (wheels, etc), you just point the camera in the direction you want to go, and it turns the vehicle to adjust. This is great, and a lot of fun with the various ‘normal’ vehicles, especially with the buggies (and especially when you put the ‘drift’ movement mods on them). The Exo Mech, though, still uses that movement style, but also has its torso twist independently from its legs. Which means it’s really difficult to control where you’re going (or even which direction you’re really headed) in cockpit mode. It sucks.

What @Don_Quixote said. You’ll find so many upgrades over time and you’ll buy even more. Use them. They help sometimes on starter ships. That being said, upgrade to a ship with more slots when you can, either by purchase or finding them and repairing them.

The tech modules I can install in my multi tool. CN I remove those and install in new multitool later?

No. You can uninstall them but you don’t get the module back. Only part of the resources it is made from.

Ok thanks! So sometimes when I try into to recite learnEd words, I get a standing decrease. How do I stop that from happening?
They always reward you when you choose a word correctly and ding you when you pick the wrong word. Fortunately, building up rep even after losing some is fairly trivial, so I wouldn’t stress too much.
I don’t have one yet, but thanks for the info. I’ve seen a lot of similar complaints in the discord and on reddit.
But this random youtuber seems to do a great job of summing up what’s so great about it (in short, environment/water protection, resource harvesting, and item gathering):
I didn’t know that. I’ve always used the Distress signal charts to find crashed ships and usually load up on them. Sadly, they do sometimes bring you to a crashed ship with the pilot waiting by it for someone to come by and help repair it, after which they thank you and fly away… sad waste of time.
I’ll try your trick now too.
Report back! I’ve been finding a lot of them. Be sure to drop save beacons down if you can afford to, because those same spots regenerate.
I also stumbled across a crashed starship scrapping exploit that can lead to a pile of cash and ship inventory slot augmentations, but you might not want to know more about that. :)
The crash sites regenerate? Wow, that’s awesome. I love finding and scrapping ships but they do seem pretty rare. This would help. How long does it take to respawn?
Unless it’s random, no more than a day. I had a spot I hit last evening respawn today.

This is actually good news that it does have some use. It also makes me wonder if they will tweak the movement speed up just a little based on all the feedback.
I wonder how well the mech is underwater?
Based on a cursory test before I noped out due to panic, I’d say it’s pretty damn good underwater.
And as for getting around on land, it feels like the jump jet pretty much mitigates the turning radius and walking speed issues. I’m liking it. Must have any time you’re exploring outside the ship.

Is there a place to buy and sell normal items on the Anomoly space station?
Got my first live ship egg! Let the grind begin.
I didn’t know until today that there is no cap on daily Nexus missions, so that helped quite a bit with the egg purchase. Also, the final mission I did today required using a portal, and helpfully found one for me in my home system. That’s going to come in handy with the live ship missions., I hope, although I don’t know much about them.
In other news, furthering my crashed starship respawning experiments, I just placed a little base near one and gave the base a name listing the ship type/stats. That way, when I check back tomorrow, I’ll know whether or not it’s the exact same crashed ship that reappears or if it changes each time. Initially I started doing that because telling different save beacons apart is a huge pain.
