I’m literally making a quarter of a billion credits a day IF I decide to actually do my chores, which are to port around and grab all my ores and crops, make the crop trade goods, and shuffle things around to a new high economy system to trade at each day.
This game needs bigger money sinks.
For freighter missions, the best I’ve ever seen is 3 stars. Do they get better than that? If they do, is there something I need to do to trigger 4 and 5 star missions?
Different thing entirely.
When you apply upgrades to things using either made, bought or found upgrades, they each have a type. Example: on your multitool you have a Boltcaster by default. What this mod does is allow you to have more than 3 upgrades installed for the boltcaster. Or a hyperdrive on your ship with 6 upgrades to it than can warp a looooooooooooooong way per jump.
I was asking a separate question entirely :) When I send frigates out to do missions the best mission I’ve seen is 3 stars. Do they get better at some point and if they do is there something I need to do to get 4-star or 5-star missions?
I’m the wrong person to ask about that since I -just- learned I could send out more than one mission at a time. That being said, none of my ships have leveled up yet, Jeff. I’m getting a bit tired of freighter repairs though.
So I guess a follow up to your follow up is, if you tell the commander to “press ahead,” once a ship is damaged, can you actually lose a frigate?
Wow, that ship must’ve cost multiple fortunes to upgrade to max capacity. :-/
What I’m understanding from the wiki is that you have to put your S-rank random upgrades in a L-shape and put the other upgrades around it because it matters which is adjacent to which. Not sure how much more you can wring out from that.
In testing … not much. My ship shield with 3 S class upgrades, measuring the listed Shield Strength:
Separated: 323.2
In a line: 328.2
In a square:329.1
Huh. That’s pretty underwhelming no matter which way you put those upgrades.
I guess the real upside is getting that little OCD tingle when you see the colored borders pop!
That’s on an A class hauler. I’m assuming S class would bump up the numbers overall but I don’t know how the bonus works, a percentage maybe?
@Skipper
I’ve found my repair situation has slowed way down. I’m not sure if it’s because I always send put 1-2 stars more than the mission requires of if it’s because my frigates have leveled up a lot. But now only 1 out of every 6 missions has a repair :)
I also found out I need 6 fleet command rooms, not just 5, because sometimes if you have a lot of super long lasting missions you can have more than 5 running at a time since you get 5 missions per day.
Just got an answer to this in the Discord:
The 3 or 4 star frigate expeditions will show once you get several frigates leveled up to S and A class.
Thank you! Gotta get my frigates leveled up soon! Iroincally the missions I want the most, Industrial, always seem to be the rarest.
Good info from both of you on the frigate situation.

You can still bring your freighter to the new galaxy can’t you? I’m going to take that step today :)
Yup! No restrictions whatsoever. (Unless you’ve reached some galaxy by portal instead, which is a whole other ball of wax). When you’re looking at a list of bases and stations you’ve visited in a teleporter in the galaxy you are in right now, the name of the galaxy they are in (if they’re in a different galaxy) will be appended to the name. And freighter/exocraft summoning is exactly the same.
Whew! Time to start my new galaxy!
Would you all like to do a screenshots of your Ships? I’m trying to collect one best of each kind.
My current ugly Fighter:
The first Exotic I bought (just to have one):
S-Class Shuttle:
The best Explorer I was able to find so far (I used this until I found my fighter):
Still the best Hauler I’ve found (was a crashed ship - everything still broken in it LOL):
Hey, the squiddie! Never seen one, that’s a nice find.
I’ll post some of mine up in a bit. I’ve sold or scrapped a lot of my old ones though.
This bad boy is in my home system.
