I bounce off around the same point. For me, I think I’m just fundamentally not that interested in seeing Yet Another Random Planet past a certain point. Oh, okay, this one is pink with some familiar looking trees. Neat.

It’s incredible what they’ve done and everything they’ve added post-release, but it just never really seems to be able to grab me. I think I need some kind of motivator or challenge to overcome to push me to expand and do more, but this doesn’t seem like that kind of game. Which is too bad for me, because there’s a lot to admire!

To give myself objectives instead of drifting aimlessly across the galaxies,
I started by doing all the quests.
Then I found myself a ship I really liked and upgraded it.
Then I found myself a big freighter and upgraded it.
Then I built a big base in the freighter.
Then I did the expeditions.
Then I found a settlement and expanded it.

All this took me quite a while and was good fun.
Now I only play new content added by expansions, but that’s fine. I got my money’s worth and then some.

Btw, Hello Games just enabled a new set of twitch drops. Some pretty nice ships as rewards.

I can’t tell from the FAQ, if I link Twitch to several accounts (Xbox, PSN, whatever) will the claimed drops be available on all of those platforms?

No idea, I’m PC only. But it only takes 15 minutes to get the first drop, so should be easy to check?

Reddit says yes, so that’s nice.

I don’t do Twitch at all, so this is something that you’re already familiar with, but I like this kind of transparency:

Didn’t know Twitch drops were a thing, but I now have a stream going in a window so I can get a cool ship in the new game I’m starting. :)

It says that you have to claim your items with 24 hours. Is that just claiming them from Twitch, or does that include claiming them in game? It says that you can claim them even if you don’t have the game and they will appear in game, so I’m guessing the former but does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

You claim them from Twitch. There’s a tab called “inventory” I think, that shows stuff you’ve earned but for some reason you have to click and claim them there to actually receive them in-game.

Yes, I understand that, and I have claimed a few already. Just wondering if the 24 hour time limit is Twitch only, or means claiming them in the game also. That’s my question.

Ok good luck with that.

Is this inventory tab available in the Android app?

For some reason, my watched stats never got above 6 percent of 15 minutes, even with two tabs open on twictch.

No idea, sorry.

Nope. If you claim them from Twitch and have your game synced correctly, then you’re good to go to get the rewards from the hub alien dude as long as you’re playing online. Plus they’ll be available for any new game you start as long as you can get to the hub.

Make sure you are viewing one of the streamers from the ‘approved’ list, linked from NMS page. I’d keep only tab open too, maybe that’s causing the conflict.

Thanks Bateau - I am unsure what the issue was, maybe just a visual bug, but I got all my drops, so all is good :-)

The new ships look stunning!

Actually, I figured it out. If you tap on the little icon on the upper left that represents a head and shoulders within a circle, it brings up a drop down from which you pick Drops.

And just a reminder that if you were silly enough to buy the game from from GOG, you are ineligible to get any of the drops.
