What’s interesting this month to me is that PS3 charted two games into the top 10, neither one an exclusive. Uncharted and Ratchet nowhere in sight. Also Wii Guitar Hero continuing to do rather well.
I thought I read something about the PS3 and 200k a week?
Since Black Friday, so December sales are going to be huge according to Sony. I was blown away by how much COD4, Mario and Assassin’s Creed sold. Pleasantly surprised that COD4 and Assassin’s Creed did pretty well on the PS3, too.
Also 360 Rockband apparently came in 12th.
360 312k
PS3 70k
Well yeah, but not every week.
that’s the number I was interested in.
That’s a lotta DSes. People must be buying a very broad selection of titles for it though, if there aren’t any lone big sellers. The DS doesn’t even have the movie/hacking/web factor the PSP does.
Edit: It’s also interesting that the 360 GH3 isn’t up there with the others. Given how long it took for me to finally get mine, I wonder if there was some kind of production problem. It wasn’t just selling out quickly, the retailers just didn’t seem to be getting very many at all.
That’s $64 million worth of Rock Bands.
So, about $65 million in sales for two weeks? That’s pretty good but not close to GH3’s $115 million week one sales.
every week since black friday: “Stringer said Sony has sold more than 200,000 units a week in the U.S. since Black Friday, Nov. 23.”
Uncharted’s number is 117k. I guess having a male protagonist wasn’t such a great idea after all.
Think I saw that it did around 300k. Don’t feel like hunting for it though.
Damn, Nintendo is moving a metric crapload of hardware. Still kind of odd to me how Wiis have been selling like hotcakes all year and they’re not charting better in software sales, though of course Mario gives them a good showing this month (and December, I’m sure). And all those DSs sold and no DS games charted in the top 10. All those people that bought Wii GH3, and are getting Mono sound! o_O
Man, 312K units of Rock Band 360 in, what, ten days? For a giant boxed $170 item, that’s damn impressive. On a revenue basis that puts them at like, #4 in a month where the top four games all sold nearly a million or more.
That’s understandable considering its price and the fact that it is a new IP.
I hate to break it to you, but there are three Wii games in the top ten.
I think this has been said before but Wii play with the remote is hardly a game.
Two for those of us that refuse to count Wii play.
That’s your problem, no one else’s. It’s a top ten selling game. Should we not count Rock Band because it comes with instruments? Not count Guitar Hero because it comes with a guitar? Exclude Scene It because it has a controller with a big red button on it?
It’s not the same because it’s not a custom controller, it’s a standard wiimote that everone will want to get anyways. If it was the Wii Zapper you would have a valid arguement.
