Obama again

Spoof, we like the guy because he says what we believe in an insanely good rhetorical manner.

Can I sign up and argue with people on Free Republic, or is it one of those places that will ban you for dissent?

Yeah well my “incoherent” response to that is that it doesn’t matter. Good rhetoric (like I mentioned) may fool enough people to get this guy elected president some day…unfortunately there are enough usually sensible people that are sometimes wowed by somebody that is gregarious and well spoken (ex. Bill Clinton.)

The problem the Democrats and liberals have right now is that it’s what you believe that alienates you from the majority. You need to find a leader that is willing to bring you back into the mainstream, not one that just tells you exactly what you want to hear. Because even if this guy can manage to become president and promote the far left agenda, his coattails will never be big enough to get you a majority in congress, in state legislatures, and in governors’ mansions.

So like I said, getting all excited about Obama is a waste of your time. I’ll keep telling you ding dongs to give up as long as you keep following moronic strategies. Constantly clinging to a single “awesome” candidate is not going to save the Democrat party, especially if he’s far left.

Woohoo! I was wondering when the Clinton hate would start to be spouted. It must really pain those people like yourself when a moderate right-winger runs the country well.

You need to find a leader that is willing to bring you back into the mainstream, not one that just tells you exactly what you want to hear.

Ok: what would that consist of? Name something. Oh, and “agreeing with the Republicans on everything” isn’t an option. I’m getting pretty damn tired y’all moderate-above-the-fray types lecturing on moderation when you wouldn’t vote for Jesus Christ himself on a Democratic ticket.

They censor you, then ban you.

Right, just like the hard-core evangelical right found in Dubya. After all, they’re thrilled that he’s following through with everything he promised them :)

They censor you, then ban you.[/quote]

Then I shall have to smash the state.

48.3% of the electorate voted for John Kerry in the last presidential election. The same John Kerry who was supposedly “the most liberal man in the Senate”. If the most liberal Democrat can garner almost 50% of the popular vote, I imagine the median liberal Democrat could do even better.

He’s not, of course; that’d be Dayton (who?) or Sarbanes.

First of all, I think you need to realize the Republican party is in just as much danger as the Democrat party. The mainstream Repubs have let the radicals take control, and have been content to keep quiet about the parts they don’t like because they’ve been so overjoyed to have a Republican in the house again. That’s going to cause your party problems eventually.

Secondly, Obama is exciting because he keeps saying smart things and because his language is transcending party bounds. And THAT’S what this country needs right now; a moderate who’ll speak for the good of the country and not his extremist partisan party nonsense.

Where exactly does Obama stand on the issues? Is he really a moderate, or far out in left field? For all the talk I hear about him, I don’t hear much about his political views.

Giggle. You are talking about a party that fielded a person in early stage dementia twice and in both cases were heralded as “winning” the debate. If their control of the media can handle those problems I think that they can handle a little bit of pandering to the Christian right.

Their only weakness is some kind of 3rd party canidate or maybe the war making them really unpopular. But I’m sure it will be spun that the war is as much the Democrat’s problem as the theirs so it will be a non-issue.

Did you read the speech? Because a lot of his political opinions are in there.
