What’s so complicated about this? If you’re about to die from some weird disease, you should negotiate for a treatment that will save your life. It’s been a while since Econ 101, but a rational actor should be willing to pay anything up to one dollar less than the net present value of all future earnings, less expenses, for the rest of his actuarially determined life expectancy. Right?

Wait. What?

You can spend a fate token to reroll your sarcasm detection, if you like.

Milo was just using a word problem to illustrate the mathematical concept of inelasticity of demand. Some people hate word problems.

I see you, Adam.

So Pappy was just makin’ a point?

Ah, O Brother quotes are never not useful.

This is my relieved face that I didn’t originally go with my “That don’t make no sense!” gif.

We thought you was a toad.

Jimmy Kimmel is going every day about this. Good for him.

And the Senate has announced no vote this week.

Yep, another one bites the dust.

House Freedom Caucus wants to use 2018 reconciliation on tax cuts, which makes a ton more strategic sense than doing repeal/replace again heading into the midterms.

We’ll see if their compatriots agree, though.

Yes, let’s wrap one controversial topic, tax cuts for rich people, inside the gigantic shit burrito of repealing Obamacare! What could go wrong?!

There is a PAC running ads for a GOP Congressman in my area explaining what a great job he is doing in bringing tax cuts to the middle class. They have been running them for a month or so now.

I wonder, are those being run everywhere in GOP controlled districts?

Have they actually put through tax cuts? If not, is that ad being sarcastic?

I think GWB proved how easy it is to do so. He passed something like $1.6 trillion in tax cuts by buying people off with a $300 rebate check in the mail. People are too stupid to do the math.

Yeah, no? I don’t think they’ve passed any real legislation at all.
But at this point, it’s like it doesn’t even matter. Honesty is not required, because even if you demonstrate with incontrovertible proof that a politician is lying, his supporters seemingly do not care even one tiny bit.

Trump lies on a virtually daily basis, and his supporters do not care at all. If anything, they just resent being shown proof of his lying.
