I lived in Australia for three years, which included doing consulting work for a large hospital in Melbourne. They do have a better healthcare system.

- MacArthur Amendment (states cam opt out of covering pre-existing conditions, etc.)
- Upton Amendment (provides ā$8 billion over five years to help cover the insurance costs of individuals with pre-existing conditionsā)
That is some cold fucking math but you kind of have to respect its brutal honesty.
