Obamacare is worthless

If Trump works with Democrats to fix aspects of ACA, I’m really interested in seeing how he’ll frame that after saying “ACA is a mess” and Obamacare has been a disaster" and “repeal and replace” is the only option.

Who knew health care could be so complicated?

I think the Democrats will very likely have some ideas to offer to help shore up the weaknesses in the ACA.

And I think they’ll be happy to work with President Trump on those. May take some time to firm up every one of their proposals, but I think you can expect them sometime around January of 2019.

He doesn’t have to frame it as anything because none of his supporters give a shit that he lies about everything and everyone else already thinks he sucks. All he has to do is say “I never said that”.

I think a portion would be, but there are plenty of craven jerks on both sides of the aisle and working with Trump has the potential to weaken Democratic gains in 2018.

Well, now that this is done, maybe the GOP is willing to work with the Dems on actually making the ACA better.

The Democrats will make hay if they can force Republicans in the House and Senate to vote against ACA helper bills.

LOL - that’s what I get for reading P&R while at work

I just keep thinking of Johnny Caspar’s line in Miller’s Crossing: "Runnin’ things. It ain’t all gravy.”

This GOP debacle has just made my weekend, seriously.

Also, millions of folks won’t lose their healthcare and die, so that’s cool too.

Cool for namby-pamby socialist liberals, not true Americans!

I am certainly all for the GOP bill dying a fiery death, you know the bill that helps fewer people and doesn’t really benefit anyone but the super rich and people who gamble with their health, knowingly or otherwise, but if this actually fails… that means there will be no real effort to actually make ACA better right which is also unfortunately. By better I don’t mean spread the health insurance and make it cheaper, I mean tighten it up and address the supply side.

Paul Ryan said, almost literally, “We just opposed Democrats for 8 years, we don’t know how to actually run a country.”

There must be a way that the government can step in to regulate the insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and healthcare providers to have standard coding throughout the country and guideline charges for each code. This will sort out many of the issues with the rising price of ACA without having to repeal and replace.

This is the system in place in many European companies. It will cut the profits of these types of companies but it will help everyone in the States.

Which is why it’s known as the opposition party. You’d think the GOP would be for something too like Freedom of Religion or State Rights but we know that’s not true either.
