Additional Info:

In October 2014, ‘XBO SUNSET OVERDRIVE’ was the ninth-highest selling game when sorting on SKU rather than by title.

Hardware:

PlayStation 4 - Top selling console for the month

Huh. I haven’t seen a ton of Evil Within chatter–so this may just be my own representation bias–but that seems like a really strong showing for that game.

Good for Bethesda. It wasn’t my thing, but it felt like a very polished, quality game.

Strong momentum for the Wii version of Skylanders, outselling every current-gen version! Also interesting that the Wii U version outsold the other two current-gen versions; there’s no digital release for NPD to ignore, so most of that probably comes down to the lower cost of the hardware itself.

Looks like there will be a PC version of Sunset Overdrive sooner rather than later.

The Evil Within up that high is a bit of a shock. I guess all those Youtubers screaming like little girl has increased the audience for horror games. (But not for Alien, it seems.)

Sad to see Shadow of Mordor isn’t higher.

Is NPD still fully retail, or have they figured out a way to factor in digital sales? Because I haven’t bought a retail PC game for about 2 years, and I’ve only bought one retail game for my PS4 and Xbox One – I’m fully digital on those.

Still no monthly digital. They do a digital breakdown once a quarter.

I’m surprised to see Destiny sell the best on last-gen 360.

The software sales do not count units in hardware bundles, so I suspect quite a few sales are missing due to the PS4/Destiny bundle like last month.
