You should write the manual!

This is fantastic. I now completed two full games of Old World. While I have seen the hurry button I have never felt the need to use it. However I do sometimes have a bunch of leftover orders in times of peace, will try out to use them to hurry for sure next time.

Everything in Old World has so much detail!

The State Religion + Zealot leader thing can be crazy strong. Being able to redirect training (guns) into specialists and projects (butter) when OW typically keeps those things fastidiously separate is absolutely massive.

Nice article. I love how much can be written about Old World. I didn’t realize damaged cities couldn’t hurry, which means I’ll be prioritizing spy work in my next playthrough.

That was really informative Tom, thanks!

The official manual writer should get his info from Tom’s manual 😂

As a game-manual nerd myself I look forward to reading all 500 pages of it.

There is no way to hurry technology Research, right?

Sage family seats (and I think Babylonian cities, or cities under a Scholar leader?) can build the Inquiry project for a one-time chunk of research. Saved my bacon early on in my most recent game when some random deaths on the court had me down to single-digit research per turn.

When I put it my request to review Old World as part of the monthly Patron bonus, I didn’t realize I’d be getting 1/2 dozen in-depth guides. I also didn’t know about the damage or the synergy with the spymaster.
