I got the 48". My old TV was a 42", and the 48" is absolutely the max I can fit in there without feeling like I’m turning my head back and forth to see everything on the screen. Also, made it relatively easy set it up by myself.
I found some pictures of Don Quixote’s tv room.
I posted this upthread, a while back. The room is indeed very small.
I was able to finally install the 65’ G1 (+soundbar) I bought on Black Friday.
I ended up having to install it myself. Very pleased with the result.
I also designed the bookshelf/furniture from the modular options, so glad I didn’t mess it up somewhere and things fell in place.
Now it’s time to figure out how to deactivate all bullshit “image enhancements” (for now it comes with an image mode that does that for you, but I want that in ALL my image modes) and then how to optimize Game Mode for my PS5.

That is a very clean install. I like!
I don’t really understand the lack of wires and cables everywhere. I mean, I like it, it’s nice, but how does the TV get power? How does the sound bar get power? How does the little subwoofer get power? Are they powered from the other side of the wall somehow? Is the other side of that wall littered with wires and holes?
My LG, slightly older, has a recess where the plug is, so the TV can sit flat against the wall bracket. I assume this is the same. I’d guess the power outlet is inside that middle box and the power cord fished up through the wall from there. Perhaps the little box on the far left hides something similar for the sub? Regardless, cool setup.
It’s magic.
Not really. We got the renovation guys (this is our new apartment/condo -you USians call things weird-) to install a pipe inside the wall. Since I had the TV bought and I designed the bookshelf, I knew exactly where the holes for the TV, the soundbar, and all the other stuff (inside the cabinet just below the TV) had to go.
The subwoofer cable is just neatly wrapped and hanging behind it into an outlet. The subwoofer itself covers it (connection to the soundbar is wireless).
For my installation, I went with an in-wall cable management kit off Amazon. It can be a bit nerve-wracking if you’re doing it yourself because you’re putting big holes in your wall. The results are well worth it imo.
Oh yes, it looks much cleaner. I had my super do something similar, except he just drilled two holes and fished the wires rather than using a fancy conduit and all. This is technically illegal as my power cable isn’t wall-rated. What can I say, I’m an outlaw.

I think I finally wore the wife down enough where she is open to getting a 4K TV to replace our 46’’ 1080 Samsung TV we bought in 2008. I was set to buy the 55’’ LG C1 Class. Figured it would be on sale for Prime Day. Maybe it was but they sold out. It was around $1096 yesterday. Then I started wondering what the optimal TV size is for my viewing distance. I’m about 10.5 feet away from the TV. According to the info I could find I’d need an 80’’ 4K TV, otherwise it said it isn’t worth it.
Ouch. Pretty sure I won’t be able to convince the wife we need an 80 inch TV. Does this all sound right? Maybe I could get the couch a couple feet closer. Maybe just getting the improved colors is still worth it?

It’s your house and you make the rules. If you were fine with a 46" TV then a 55" will seem like it’s huge.
However, I will say that I don’t think there’s such a thing as a TV that’s too big, so my suggestion would be to get the biggest you can afford.
And LG’s OLEDs are amazing, but again, if you’re stepping up from a 1080p set, there are a whole range of much less expensive TVs that would still be a huge upgrade for you, and you’d be able to afford a larger size.
Yep. That’s right IMO. I’m about the same distance from our set and find that it could even be a little bigger in order to make out detail (particularly on PC games with text). We started with a 46" in this spade and then a 60" and now the 80" LG FWIW.

I mean, it’s not like you’re not going to tell the different between a 46" 1080P tv and a 55" OLED 4K tv. It will be a massive improvement. Those “optimal” setup sites can be a good reference, but they cater to the kind of extreme hobbyists who will dismiss anything that isn’t the extreme. I went from a 42" 4K TV to a 55" OLED and it’s a huge upgrade.
I went from a 1080p 50 in Panasonic Plasma from 2013 (the last of them), which had a really nice picture and black blacks and all that, but should have also mentioned its properties as an auxiliary space heater ;) to a 55" LG CX so the jump in size wasn’t that noticeable, but the picture quality change was something.

How is the sound on the LG TVS? My current TV is hooked up to a surround sound system, but the front speakers that are built into the walls are not good. Right now I use a separate Polk center speaker, built in front left / right speakers, and 2 rear speakers mounted in the ceiling. If I could get good sound without the speakers, that would be nice.
LG TVs could probably use a sound bar if you are sitting further than 4 feet away. :)
Yeah you still want speakers (space permitting). TV built-in speakers have gotten a little better, but can’t in any way compare.

I have a new problem. My wife actually has agreed to the LG C1 class 55’’ or 65’’ TV. The problem is that the center speaker we are using is too tall. It currently sits in front of our TV, with the TV behind it on it’s stand, which is on a wooden platform to raise it up. We have some framed photos on the wall above the TV that my wife doesn’t want moved. So, even if we mount the TV on the wall, it is constrained how high it can go so the center speaker would still be in the way.
Our entertainment center does have a compartment for a center speaker, but it isn’t wide enough. So we either need a new center speaker that is narrow enough to go into the compartment, or a sound bar / center speaker that is short enough to sit in front of the TV.
Is there a particular sound bar that works well with these TVs? Or is there a good center speaker that less than 16’’ wide by 7 ‘’ tall?
Edit: I’d hope not to spend more than $300-$500 on the speaker / soundbar.
