Oh look, corpses and arrests under terrorism laws.
I have read numerous times that the cops violence is somehow “good” for the occupy groups public relations wise. Death could only be better huh.
Given these are campus cops, prove this.
I would bet you that they have taken one day training courses in order to satisfy the insurance companies. ;)

Funnily enough, I’m not casual about people getting killed.

Actual training.
I didn’t say people were blown up; read more carefully. They destroyed nearly a million pounds in today’s money. The document image under Standoff in Boston is from the “Chairman of the Committee for Tarring and Feathering.” The Sons of Liberty were behind the Tea Party; they followed up by tarring and feather a customs official four weeks later. The same group burned a ship in 1772. This describes a variety of tar and feather incidents in that time period.
The leadup to the US revolution wasn’t a dinner party.
No, you had it right the first time: They chose the name “Tea Party” to call attention to a brutal, violent event in our nation’s history, and thus scare the police off from possibly acting against them out of fear. Also, to further cement fear in the police, the Tea Party applies for permits whenever they gather, and makes sure to clean up afterwards. Nothing scares the police more than following proper procedure.
And if the modern Tea Party had called themselves “Sons of Liberty,” that would be relevant to this discussion.

Good, I’m glad we finally came to consensus. You were really getting out there for a while.

Here’s an Andy post from that alternate universe: “So, what, you believe the police think all those people are sons? What about the women?”
SADLY ENOUGH, you poor excuse for a human being. And yes, thanks for highlighting the fact you’re quite casual about violence and death.

Oh, good. I was worried this thread wasn’t dumb enough.
Thanks, but instead of making up alternate-universe posts, you should focus on your ridiculous posts in this universe, like claiming that a name makes a group violent.
I know, you’re very sad about the hypothetical deaths of future babies that you decided to bring up for no reason.
Oh yes, please do praise violence and death, your gods, more.
Andy Bates - Excuses and shifting goalposts on your part again I see. Keep up the good work in promoting said twin gods!

Or I could hold my breath waiting for you to answer a simple question about why the Tea Party chose their name, and die.

Crom laughs from his mountain.
Please do.
Edit: Oh no! Was I being casual about death again??
Well, you fed the troll, what did you expect?
If you guys had only listened to me and filled P&R with boner jokes, the forum would never have entered this new Dark Age.
You say that the “Sons of Liberty” group “was basically the Boston Tea Party,” but the Boston Tea Party was an event, not a group. The modern Tea Party named themselves after that event, not after the group that tarred and feathered people. And that’s all tangential anyway, because naming yourself after someone violent doesn’t make you violent, any more than naming yourself Muhammad makes you a boxer.
