Maybe the need to breathe is wired so deep in the brain that even after becoming vampires, they can’t will away the need to dispense of it.

Think like waterboarding, but with vampires. They think, “Oh, I don’t need to breathe, I’m undead, I’ll be OH HOLY CRAP I’M DROWNING STOP!”

Well, maybe it was… uh… quasi-holy water? Blessed by a hobo, perhaps? Or maybe vampirism is some strange form of rabies that induces some instinctive fear of water. Or…

Seven weeks RL just happens to coincide with GenCon Indy 2009. I don’t know if that is important or not. Could be if they are wanting to release another book.

Disregard as this has already been mentioned.

I suspect Kraagor’s gate (the last one) will be where Durkon’s Big Arc happens, so I’d be very surprised if it ends before the OOTS get there. Personally I think we’re about 2/3 of the way through the whole thing, and a couple of strips at most away from the end of this arc.

I loved this one, by the way - had the feeling of letting out a deep breath that you’ve been holding for a long time. It’s been, what, 250 strips since they were together?

who’s the person mentioned?

Where is this mentioning of a person about which you ask?

Kazumi and Daigo, maybe? They’re the anonymous soldiers who got de-anonymised as a sort of running gag and now stand as the ‘non paladin’ part of the Azure City lot.

Based on the conversation of the robed guys, it almost implies that they are, in fact, the souls that were grafted onto V. Note that the one has a short amount of time and the other longer, reflecting the departure of the first soul early.

And I think Russel is asking about “Tiamat.”

No, they get her soul for the amount of time she had the souls grafted. The wizards they grafted on were merely one soul from each of their domains.

Edit: Tiamat is a 5-headed evil dragon queen.

Well, if it’s Daigo and Kazumi, he’s not the only one confused.

Is it Tiamat, the 5-headed Bitch Queen of all Evil Dragons?

I can’t imagine why Tiamat would be unhappy, other than … oh, the near-extermination of about one-quarter of the black dragons in existence at the hands of their tool, Evil Varsuvius.

New one up, and it looks like we’re just about to move onto the next arc.

That’s eerily beautiful plotting. Even the Aspergers-cases over at GITP didn’t pick the Fiends using the Linear Guild as minions, but it’s so obvious in retrospect.

There’s a scene where the succubus character disappears off to speak with her masters, isn’t there?

Yes. But noone, AFAIK, was predicting the link - though it’s pretty obvious. It’s just nice plotting is all.

“We’ll tell you later, it’s too much exposition for right now”

lol

Yeah, and someone in this very thread pointed that out, I think. Actually, I think it was referenced once in a strip between that one and this one as well. But maybe you had to read that earlier strip after being introduced to the 3 guys to figure out who it was she was talking to?

And then they proceed to spit out huge blocks of text of exposition for the rest of the strip.

But at least it was new exposition?

Exactly! There wasn’t enough room to fit in any more.

New one up.
