The Rolex spell is probably lower level than some sort of directional/finding spell, plus I guess that way they can avoid the typical magical misdirection/warding.

Yeah, saying that something is anywhere except where it actually is sounds like the kind of thing a master illusionist would do. And my prediction is that Elan is the one who intuits it and points it out.
