What the hell? Can Burlew possibly be old enough to have seen one of those shows? Maybe he followed a random wikipedia link or something…

Well, now I hate you extra, Pee-Wee. I’m 43 and I remember Kukla, Fran and Ollie. I was 3 or 4 and I remember waiting for their suckiness to end and the good cartoons to start.

Yeah, me too. Well, I’m a couple of years older. But I also got the first three fawn-colored D&D pamphlet books shortly after they came out, and I suspect Burlew has not been around quite that long…

according to his wikipedia entry, he was born in 1974… so no, he’s not old enough, unless they showed reruns where he grew up

Does anybody but me actually read the entire wiki article. Wiki tells me they hosted the CBS Children’s Film Festival.

Only old geezers read the whole article.

Make it three, just to be safe.

i should change my qt3 nick to “Elan”

Am I confused, or are the conclusion, that to forget something you do when drunk - drink more?
Off cource, the Giant says it in a funny way!

Top of the List

<thjunk!> is the sound of a man being in hit in the groin with a wooden sword.

Did we just get an answer for who would win in a fight: Belkar or Roy?

Animal companion or no, Roy apparently just hits to hard for Belkar to keep up.

Makes sense. Ranger class spreads its benefits across both combat and non-combat abilities (although Belkar doesn’t seem to have focused on non-combat very much). Fighter class focuses strictly on fighting. In DnD 3rd Edition Fighter has more hit points and gets weapon specialization. So in general a Fighter should be able to beat a Ranger in a fight. I presume Belkar and Roy are the same level.

Whats that line about halflings only being able to reach level 8? I haven’t played D&D since 3rd edition.

Demi-humans (elves, dwarfs, halflings, etc.) in first edition D&D had level limits.

2nd edition too. It was a stupid rule that I was surprised made it into the game. I think we generally ignored it.

I knew about the level cap but didn’t realize it was so low. 8 out of 20? That’s really weak.

A brief search says that in the version of basic D&D where halflings could get to a max level 8, human fighters could get to level 36. So even a bigger difference than that.

That’s racist.

Specist.

But…but…Belkar isn’t even a fighter! He’s a ranger/barbarian in 3.5! What do you mean he’s capped at level 8? THAT’S JUST NOT FAIR!

Oh wait. The joke is that he got hit so hard he was knocked back to a previous ruleset.

Never mind. I like jokes.
