What’s that poster on the fence?
The poster advertising the upcoming games.

You’re good at this, Tin Wisdom. Nice catch.
Tarquin is an interesting contrast with Xykon. Both super-villains fought their protagonists with basically one hand behind their backs, advising them to go on some side quests and level up before a more satisfying battle later on. Xykon is a megalomaniac and Tarquin has no qualms about treason and the slaughter of innocents, but Tarquin may have actual feelings for his son beyond the machinations of his plans.
I wonder what Tarquin would do if Xykon came knocking on the door of the Empire of Blood?
Kick his ass, is my guess.
More likely let him lay waste to the kingdom and find some new stand-in to “advise” for an entirely different and new kingdom. Whats the point of being a puppet master if someone as obtuse as Xykon can see who is holding the strings?
Yeah, but if he lets Xykon keep snowballing, there won’t be new kingdoms around to advise until Xykon gets taken down.
Besides, Tarquin wants to be defeated by Elan, not by Xykon! :)

I’m almost certain we’re going to find out.
Too straightforward. Tarquin would offer Redcloak a better deal and then, together, they would kick Xykon’s ass.
There’s a no nonsense core lurking under Xykon’s bumbling demeanor. My money’s on Tarquin being a side show, and that Xykon turns out to be sharper than he at first has appeared, especially once he’s been pissed off. Tarquin being stylish and popular with fans makes this seem even more likely to me.

I suspect Rich is exactly aware of how interesting the conflict between the two could be.
But that said, it’s not called ‘Order of the devilishly fascinating anti-villains’. So whatever happens, will probably happen fast.
If you have the prequel comic “Start of Darkness,” like my QT3 Secret Santa ever-so-thoughtfully got for me this year, you see that Xykon’s much, much sharper than he lets on. He has as many ranks in Bluff as he does character levels, I am sure.
Probably 3 more ranks than he does CLs.
[Sorry, I had to.]
But I don’t think it’s one of his class skills, now that I think about it…
Yes, yes it is.

Unless being a Lich is also a class change and not just a race change, somebody more into DnD will have to answer that.
Just realize that Xykon is a Sorcerer, not a Wizard.

Yeah, Sorcerors are naturally pimp at bluff since all their spells key off Charisma.
Becoming a horrifying undead abomination must have some negative attribute penalty, I would think, though, right?

You’d think, but the D&D Charisma stat is all about force of personality rather than physical appearance.
