Maybe he really, really hates that song.
Bam! I’m like one for three on OOTS predictions now!
And Roy hates Thog not just because he’s evil, but because he’s every bad fighter stereotype that Roy despises.
Thog easily solo’d a storm giant with PC class levels?

in this one he is getting eaten by the queen dragon and laughing.
Hehe… this should be good. This strip can not have too much of Thog in it.
My all time favorite Thog strip. That (half) man does so much with so little.
He is also a confirmed murderer, as is evidenced by the plot to use Roy’s sister as bait to get to Elan. So, Roy can now justly battle him without worrying about killing an innocent. Hey, that is another reason to hate him, he kidnapped his sister!

In a funny way Rich’s losing his ability to surprise us because we know he won’t do bullshit twists or reversals - Thog was the only really plausible and satisfying character it could be.
Not really a problem though, it’s just a function of where we are in the story (2/3 or maybe even 3/4 of the way through).
And yes Thog is hilarious. “GROUP HUG!” “Hold Person.” <falls over>
I don’t know… I sure didn’t see Thog coming. In hindsight it makes sense, but I don’t recall anyone suggesting it as a possibility!

sigh… that definitely called for a nice trip back through the archives.
Me guessing like a month ago…
I was right about the Linear Guild, wrong about Thog’s combat ability. In my defense, Roy already schooled him once way back in the first Dungeon thanks to Weapon Specialization. And “the Champion” was described pulling off feats (and heads) that Roy could not match.
Yeah. When I first discovered this strip, thanks to this thread, I spent a glorious weekend just reading the entire thing from end to end. Can’t remember a blessed thing about it. This is a good thing, 'cos guess what I get to do again?
Those victories could be part of a Tarquin charade.
I spent a big part of the day feeling terrible and re-reading OOTS from about #300 on. The last time I saw Thog before the fight between Nale and Tarquin was #668 with the three colored devils(?). Anyone know of a good in-strip timeline? I wonder how much time the Belkor’s date with the Oracle’s prophecy has left.
To be fair, neither myself nor Greatatlantic put our predictions on our blogs.

He’s so great. I love that Tarquin references him being lovable despite all the people he’s killed. It’s like Burlew reads this thread!
Also, “no, but thog thankful for update on talky-man’s relationship status”
Greatatlantic, for the win!

My favourite part of this installment is the ‘clunk’ and lack of a scratch when Roy hits Thog on the head. Ridiculously low INT, ridiculously high CON…
