Not in this particular fight. The druid Leeky Windstaff served that role in their Cliffport battle.

Just got my copy of Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tails! I’ll post a review tomorrow when I’m done with it.

Yay! No spoilers, please, some of us are abroad waiting for our copies.

I finished reading my copy of SS&DT. The no-spoiler version: Pretty funny, finished too quickly.

The alphanumeric designation on the spine is D (as compared to the prequel books’ 0 and -1).

Dang, now there’s nothing for me to do! But, since that’s never stopped me before, I’ll post my thoughts anyway.

Overall, it’s good. The only misfire (for me) is the Julio Scoundrel section, which I didn’t laugh at once. The strips from Dragon magazine are great–they take the OOTS party back to their old school gag roots as they tromp through a dungeon fighting low level foes like goblins. The 3.5 vs. 4th edition stuff is also good, though I’d have enjoyed it more if I understood the 4th edition rules. And Rich’s version of “Fractured Fairy Tales” is a great way to close out the book.

New OotS! With one of the best opening lines EVER. :D:D:D:D:D:D

That was such a fantastic twist!

And a great set of closing lines as well! Ah, the irony if Belkar’s demise is nigh.

That was definitely a sweet opening line.

What’s that thing in the bag that Yukyuk runs into in 799?

It’s Haley’s bag of holding full of treasure.

Hahaha! That was pretty good, unexpected too. I figured V was just going to smash the kobold and move on…

It’s Haley’s bag of holding full of treasure.[/QUOTE]…including Roy’s blue armour, if that’s what you meant.

Thanks. I thought it was some kind of special spell which generated a monster pretending it was a treasure chest or something.

Looks like Haley dropped it back in 789.

I love how this reflects the hard lesson that Super Saijen V learned when he got his ass handed to him by Team Evil: It’s not how much power you have, it’s how smartly you use it.

WOOOOOT! YES!

Nice strip, though I am surprised the fair use parody did not think to bring some sort of invisibility breaking site to the battle. Unless, his purpose was to stall for something else to happen.

A question so geeky it makes my skin crawl a bit - how did V’s new buddy get a sneak attack?

New combat/new initiative rolls for everyone, and the dominated rogue (naturally) rolled a higher INIT than the mage?

Because the surprise attack from an invisible position denied V’s opponent his/her Dex bonus to AC. When attacking a flanked opponent or an opponent who is denied his/her Dex bonus to AC, rogues sneak attack.
