810 The Kind That Makes Friends Easily

“Suck a bus” :)

Oh, I just got it. Awesome!

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Finally it’s revealed, what the long absent of Durkin from the batlle, was really leading up to.
If the Giant can match this buildup I’ll not only be surprised, but impressed beyond words.
The dramatic cliffhanger deserves a dramatic pause.

One day is long enough, isn’t it?

Oh - a week, you say? Or longer? Oh my!

If the Linear Guild’s plans ever worked as well as their escape plans, our heroes would be in trouble.

Fucking verbal-component-only Dimension Door! I hates that damn spell, hates it! Well, unless I’m the mage.

That said, the range isn’t all that far…

Of course in “real” D&D “harm” + some other attack kills. Stupid balancing features in the recent editions…

He missed with his touch attack (the “whooosh”).

Is there a way to trace it to the landing site? (the last time I played D&D it was in three small brown books, if that tells you how up to date I am)

Someone remind me why Malack hates Nale so much? At first I thought Malack was just protecting Durkon, but apparently there’s more to it.

Nale killed his kids IIRC.

So Nale saying ‘how’s your family’ is ballsy.

Well it only goes a quarter mile at most, a couple of football fields at level 7. So sight would often do, and divination magic picks up the slack if you’re prepared.

The trouble is that Teleport pops in only two levels higher, which despite being a bit unreliable makes mages essentially uncatchable.

Amusing final gag.

That last panel was brilliant, especially coupled with the title.

Anel, lol.

What is Minister Malack’s alignment? Lawful Evil? Lawful Neutral?

Lawful Evil, I’m pretty sure.

Could be either from what we’ve seen.

I’d guess Lawful Neutral actually, as that fits for non-crazy death deities and avoids the standard villain cliche, especially given how well he gets along with Durkon.
