Speed of Plot. I find that acceptable :)
(I mean, it’s annoying in Erfworld, but only because it’s tied into a bunch of other nonsense)

And heh, yea, the Fiends are great. Evil is, after all, fundamentally lazy.

I’ve missed practically all of OoTS other than an occasional panel linked in this thread. One of these days I need to hunker down and binge through the entire thing.

It’s likely to take more than a day.

Still worth it!

Today is a good day to binge. So is tomorrow, or any other day. It’s easily the best webcomic ever produced, at least in my opinion.

New one’s up.

Uh oh. And V gets h/h body back just at the worst possible moment, too, I bet…

No, I think that’s why the Fiends specifically mentioned that h/h body was “shielded from all harm” last strip.

They also wouldn’t waste their ~20 remaining minutes of V control, either. They are economical, these fiends, and seem to have a good sense of the value of their investment.

Now the big question: Why would those fiends want the gate breached? It doesn’t benefit them at all if some chaotic neutral beastie consumes the universe, them included.

I think the implication, what with the unexplained planet in the rift and all, is that we the readers do not yet have the full correct story on the gates and what they really do.

Agreed. The destruction of two planets would probably be a suitably evil goal for them, but I doubt it’s that simple.

Evil doesn’t want to destroy everything, it wants to control and corrupt everything. Even D&D chaotic evil doesn’t want to destroy everything, it wants to personally possess everything.

Keep your intolerant definitions of evil to yourself, bigot. I personally would like to destroy everything and I won’t be hemmed in by your rigid alignment systems.

We don’t need any stinking CN types in hell. Go back to limbo with your slaads and chaos elementals and cry me a river. Oh, you can’t, can you, because you destroyed everything, even tears!

And yet another new one.

I confess, I don’t get the title to this one.

Nor I. Perhaps a re-reading of some of the Oracle strips is in order.

(Paraphrasing) “Of the two gates commonly known as Girard’s Gate and Kraagor’s Gate [or whatever], which will the lich sorcerer commonly known as Xykon be within 1000 feet of next?”

I suspect 900 is going to be a multi-page spectacular. Can’t wait.

Jesus, I’ve now read 899 of these and didn’t realize the panels even had a title over on the left side…

Lol, that’s pretty funny. And the titles are often hilarious and frequently informative. You should check them all out. The collections put them on each page above the strip, so they’re impossible to miss there.

They should really put the title in the tooltip. (Also, XKCD’s tooltips rock)
