Also it’s important to note that Roy is not at full HP to start this fight, so the number of rounds he could last may possibly be lowered by some amount. But that’s really neither here nor there because of narrative, that’s why.
Yep; Roy’s plan is very desperate. Tarquin being Tarquin it is entirely reasonable he’s played this scenario out in his head and has taken advantage of readily available methods to deal with high level Pcs (Level 20 Roy’s +3 Plate and +3 ring of protection produce a mediocre AC and an awful touch AC, so squads of flask hurlers could really do a number e.g.). But I agree, it’s not relevant. Something is going to happen to change this up, though I don’t know what.
I’ll just quote my earlier post on this page:
Almost certainly, yeah… but Burlew being Burlew, I predict something unpredictable.
Thanks for that right up peace dog. I was kind of hoping he could mathematically cut through a couple hundred or so, but it sounds like sheer numbers don’t favor him right now.
Still, Tarquin just trash talked Xykon. If his +8 bonus to Listen checks can cross continents, then I guess we will get to see how his super cleverness works against epic sorcerer levels combined with lich bonuses.
Nah, more likely V finally gets back and helps even the score. Also, Red is supposedly leading a resistance, meaning reinforcements could show up that way. Or, in a real twist, it could be Thog, who has the people’s support for his entertaining murdering in the arena.
…That’s actually fairly plausible for Thog. Especially if he hears what happened to Nale.
Thog for Brutal Dictator! Puppies and cootie shots for everyone! Less talky, more helping. Plus, public concerts.
On another note, Malak’s staff can apparently raise corpses, or something like that: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0858.html
Heh.
And hmm… Not sure that’s worthwhile compared to using his hypnotic gaze, which is a 2:1 trade, as it turns men on their own former allies. (Oh and it uses limited charges)

Elan still has some card up his sleeve, something he figured out before entering the canyon, something to do with dealing with his dad.
Peacedog’s math is pretty good, but does forget that Belkar’s sand-kicking-storm provides concealment for them. If you assume that it’s probably just normal concealment that gives every mook a 20% chance to miss after they successfully hit. If it manages to become total concealment that jumps to negating 50% of the hits on them. Also they’re just waiting for sunset, not dawn, so the odds are slightly better than they seem at first, especially if Elan can do something dramatically heroic.
Then at sunset we get to see what evil spells Durkon can sling now and if Thor is still his patron. Are there any impressive army-clearing cleric spells for Durkon’s level? Maybe he could desecrate the battlefield and then animate an undead legion of his own, since it looks like he’s the only cleric in town now.
Hmmm… you know, I think someone earlier in the thread noticed the multiple references to the Dwarven goddess of death, who all dwarves go to when they die unless they die in battle. However, pretty much all dwarves find a way to die in battle, so she doesn’t have any followers. If Durkon is her first, will we see some literal deus ex saving them?

LEE? What? Lawful Evil something?

Lee is the name of one of the three directors. Nothing too fiendish.

I always preferred BCNU for the Prisoner vibe, but apparently some people just can’t work out what it means.
Hah, I just thought of something when you pointed this out. The names of the 3 fiends are LEe, CEdrick, and NEro.

Coincidence? I think not, especially considering Sabine’s descriptions of their roles. Lee does the planning, Cedrick executes when his gut tells him to, and Nero keeps them working together.

Ha, so I was right after all :)
