In 2nd Edition, you still needed even the tiniest part of a person to resurrect them; you need the whole body to raise dead.

Another big thumbs-up for Belkar. His absence will now be felt in every RPG and fantasy novel I subsequently read. Damn.

As already stated, possibly the best Chaotic Evil character in the world, ever.

I have almost gotten to the point where I’ve forgotten who this Roy person is and why we want him resurrected in the first place. And just who were the other characters, again?

I was thinking about Roy’s absence as well. I guarantee there are a significant number of readers who have never read a new comic where Roy has been alive. I guess he has some story to tell but I honestly have kind of moved on. Too much fragmentation, too much time apart, for me personally. Splitting them up after the Azure City stuff might work out in the end but wow, wrap it up already. When he finally gets back to everyone together, I can catch up.

As the thread starter it seems appropriate that i’m always in the raving fanboy position… but I don’t really mind the shaggy dogness of the tale. The digressions are interesting enough for me. Not to say I’m not looking forward to the reunion :)

I feel the exact same way. Most of the OOTS humour was derived from knowing the plot & playing with RPG tropes. If you can’t follow the plot, it’s often hard to truly appreciate how he’s playing with the genre. And honestly, I lost track awhile back thanks to all the fragmentation. I’ll catch up when one of two things happen:

He brings them back together, or
He releases the comics in book form so I can curl up on my bed & read all the strips in one go.
