I don’t think there was ever any doubt in the movie, either, but then again I had read the books beforehand.

Besides, the people that criticize the movie in that regard usually criticize the larger role the love story and Arwen character played, not how it was presented.

Ugh, I hope not; I’ve been sick of these Azure City idiots for a while. More demons, goblins, and Creature in the Darkness please.

There was doubt in the movie - my wife had a few friends who hadn’t read the books who talked about “who aragorn will choose”.

Anyway enough LOTR derail - another subplot removed. Hurrah!

New Subplot incoming.

New anything would be good, at this point. It feels like the story has been treading water for most of the year, at this point. I mean, what’s seriously happened since the fall of Azure City? Belkar’s sick, v is going crazy, and they lost ray’s body. That’s pretty much it, in terms of major plot points, no?

Finally got around to buying a copy of each of the books tonight, something I’ve been meaning to do for ages. The vendor is currently offering a discount on scratched and dented versions of the first two books, if anyone’s interested.

I approve of this comic’s message. Which is why I’m linking it.

Elan seriously is kicking ass these days. GO ELAN!!!

Dang, Elan using an illusion of Belkar to insult V. that’s pretty awesome.

Much funnier than the recent ones, for sure. And I definately get the impression that someone is getting a message about drawn out subplots. :-)

That was the greatest OOTS ever. It’s like he wrote it just for me.

And I still think it was all planned out all the time this way … :)
Rock on Elan !

Concur.

I would agree, but then again - if people thought there was doubt in the movie, they would no doubt feel similar about the book. Arwen in the movies was a far superior (i.e., active and interesting) character than in the book.

Oh sorry - to get back to the topic.

I think Rich is an excellent writer who puts together a great story… especially given that it is a web comic. For a strip that updates this frequently (even if irregularly) and has such a convoluted plot-line, the ratio of funny to non-funny strips is amazing. If there is anyone else that does this better, I’d like to know. Seriously.

Schlock Mercenary does the long-term storyline stuff better than OOTS, but he doesn’t bring the funny as well, and the art is a real problem for many people.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNew one.

Someone is certainly wearing their cranky robe.

I don’t really like how Elan goes from unusually rational and logical in the last two strips back to total idiot in the final 3 panels. I think the character works either way, but not if he keeps flipping between the two.

High wisdom, low intelligence. It’s hard to play.
