I know right? I groaned when I saw V take off, as it totally killed my dreams of a reunited cast. Oh well. Hopefully V and Belkar will be reunited.

For me, while this sidetrip has mostly focused on Elan as the character, it’s really been about V, in that X-Men Phoenix rising type of way.

I’m hoping he goes in another direction than a trial for V and deals a bit more with the implication of V’s power and the cliche of the wizard more powerful than everyone else combined.

And please, this V story isn’t a side story. It’s a major story that the most powerful member of the Order is taking a walk on the darkside. It looks like #600 will be the fall of V.

This has been setup wonderfully over the last 100 comics and it’s finally ripe.

Edit: nevermind. I got it to load. And what noun said. I didn’t expect much of a big deal with this strip, but to waste panels like that is just stupid. 6/9 of the last were just filler. And waiting nearly a week for this didn’t help.

He was joking. You might not like the joke, but it wasn’t a “waste”. What does that even mean - eyeball wear-and-tear?

Edit: I keep coming across as Mr Pangloss about Rich, but I’m keen for something to happen too.

I understand the joke, I just didn’t think that stretching the last half of the comic out that way was all that funny. It feels padded to me.

Anyway, I was perusing the official board and the interpretation there is that this is the way that we are being told that Roy is coming back, but that it doesn’t mean Roy is coming back right away. So there may still be a long haul of strips before that happens.

I just came back to reading the OOTS, I had stopped reading at 543 and I have to say that reading so many strips in a row was much better than waiting every week for the new ones.
