Pantone colors now cost extra in Photoshop

We had special monitors for use to create ‘true’ color digital images to view, but inks would be mixed and altered even based on paper used. Some cheap papers would have yellow undertones that could visibly alter the color of a printed item, while some of the higher end papers tended to have blue shading, or even occasionally red.

Cheap Chinese paper would be the worst to work with because color matching and holding would become nearly impossible, not to mention the fiber strength and flexibility meant that most of the times the scores would crack when you folded the package.

Oh wow, I’d not considered the stock affecting things too but that makes sense. Yikes
