So Act 5 is getting added in June/July, right?

Acts 5-10 are getting added in June/July.

Good. That was my interpretation of the Path of Exile page as well. I got confused with @Syzygy’s post that Act 5 just became available.

Oh right, that is a little confusing. I think he meant:

It’s the info that became available, not act 5. You can’t criticize him though, because excitement! We’re all drunk on it.

FWIW there will be an interesting Legacy league before we get to 3.0. In this league every past league will be available (also, league specific uniques can drop again). However, instead of GGG rotating which league mods are active as the have in the past, you will select 3 special stones to activate on a special UI screen to indicate which leagues you want active. And apparently the stones can come with special buffs, so we’ll be finding them or possibly starting with generic ones and finding enchanted ones. Or something. You can easily switch what’s active in town.

New league is live! What’s everyone starting as? I’ll probably do a flameblast elementalist or an ED occultist, can’t decide.

Excellent question! I haven’t decided yet. I haven’t played FB before, so I might go for that. I liked blade vortex assassin last league but would like something a bit different.

Oh, shit! Sweet! This is Legacy? Hmm. Maybe Arc, never actually done that.

After going back and forth on builds I decided on a MoM/EB Shock Nova Inquisitor, SSF. I had half a dozen I planned out but this seemed like the best starter of the bunch other than perhaps the summoner, and more interesting than the summoner.

Wait, I thought the new league didn’t start until the 11th??

I’m gonna play… Probably some sort of dude who wiggles his fingers. Wait, didn’t they buff zombies or something like that? Maybe a SRS/zombie/specter something or other.

Zombies got a pretty significant range buff on their melee attacks, and I think they buffed Mon’treguls sceptre or whatever it’s called that halves your max number of zombies but buffs them. I never used that, so no idea if it’s any good but some streamers had it on their lists of buffed uniques to maybe watch for.

Yes, they changed the increased damage modifier to zombies to a MORE modifier, which is huge. I think they also gave them more life. Speaking of the weapon here of course, I don’t know if skill gem was touched as well.

I got my Elementalist to cruel last night and it was super smooth, just had to get myself a 3L +1 fire gems weapon and it was fine. Choosing this over Occultist was definitely a good idea.

I rolled a Witch who’s going to go SRS and … zombies and spectres I think - a fairly conventional summoner. One thing I don’t like about that is that a lot of the builds I see talk about leveling as Firestorm until you get to something like 50, and philosophically I hate leveling using one set of skills and then swapping to your “real” skills later on. On the other hand, it does give a bit of variety to switch your skills around (because face it, you are using your “final” set of skills forever once you get to endgame). Plus Firestorm is pretty daggone powerful.

I never found leveling with zombies, skeletotem, and SRS particularly difficult. Once you get curse on hit at 38 throwing that on Arc with Vulnerability (and EE eventually to boost Hatred damage and flame sentinels) worked really well.

Yeah, I’ve leveled using SRS and I recall it being not terribly difficult. I’m already using Zombies as a (at least) a distraction. So using SRS instead of Firestorm doesn’t seem like much of a difference.

Skeletotem is the light and the truth though. You may eventually ditch it at least for certain content where you don’t need the extra beef, but it’s amazing for mid levels.

I used a skelly totem last league. They worked fine but I don’t remember them being all that great.

It’s mostly for the extra beef before your zombies start really kicking butts and you have some decent specters.

The skeletotem damage itself is never that great, no. They’re good with minion instability though.

You guys have a build plan you’re following? Trying to decide which way to go, and I’m still too new to do stuff myself.

I like the idea of the new SSF leagues, since that’s my preferred method of play anyway. Maybe now is a good time to jump back in for a little while and create a new Sarah.

I wish SSF had a buffed drop rate though, even if only for mats to encourage crafting. It would need to be completely disconnected from the main economies though, which it does not appear to be (trading just removes your SSF flag).
