That fits with my experience in the beta, in fact everything seemed easier through the end of Act 4. Then the act 5 bosses were extremely tough for me, I’m hoping that they’ll turn them down soon if they haven’t already

Same here haven’t noticed a problem but haven’t been listening to lots of the audio

. My first character a Summoner witch was doing fine until I decided to try the first trial right when I got to the prison ,instead of going back for it later, bad idea.:-)
Right now my Elemental Templar is in act 3. My plan is to do some sort of ice build, but I haven’t yet committed any passive points that are ice specific .
My second Summoner just made it to a A2, aided by a plus one minion Helm she found. So far raging Spirits are pretty strong , and I very much like that they don’t need targeting.

Speaking of twinks, I started a lightning based ranger I told you about. Plan is to grab 2x Static Electricity and 2x Ewar’s mirage asap. I suspect that will carry me for a while, even on a 4L. Hopefully until I can afford 2x Hyaon’s Fury. Already have a tree mapped out and it looks pretty solid at first glance, plus it’s not overextended - I stopped at lvl 91. Got all the frenzy charges, acro, phase acro, most of the elemental nodes in range, some attack nodes, leech nodes, and whatever life/evasion was available.

And Act 1 done, level 14 elemental Templar, thinking I might go for Ancestral Bond with a Spark Totem build. Brutus and Merveil both pushovers. Need to go back and do side-quests.

Two legendaries before Brutus! That’s never happened before! Pretty average drops, otherwise.

I’ve had a devil of a time getting drops that have any resists. Finally getting some (in late Act 3) but it’s been rough. And I think I’m only up to something like 25% lightning resist. Plus I think I’m still rocking at least half blue gear. It’s quite a change from the leagues I have recently played, where loot seemed to drop from the skies.

Don’t be afraid to look for resists on the tree, at least temporarily. Also, Bismuth Flasks drop early now (even in act 1), so if you see one that can help a lot. Also, this league’s extra Orbs of Binding and Alchemy can really help gear up, or use Essences if you find some.

Also, if anyone didn’t know, the labyrinth was revamped and is a lot more lucrative than it used to be. It’s also easier to run, significantly shorter for normal and cruel and only requiring 3 trials for each of cruel and merciless. If you need to gear up towards the end of act 3, you can also try running it just to loot the chests in each zone. Each big chest is like a well-rolled lockbox or has an item which help defeat Izaro and there are extra treasure keys for the final room’s treasure boxes. Also, the hidden rooms with darkshrines now all provide very nice positive buffs for the rest of the run.

In other news, RF totems with Searing Bond (on a chieftain similar to this build) were not nerfed as hard as it seemed. Burning damage can be very nicely enhanced with the new supports. The act 7 boss and cruel Izero just died for me within 10-15 seconds each on a 15c budget.

I’m going to complain a bit about the Harbinger drops in this league. Did they have to make them all shards? That’s four or five extra inventory spots that are pretty much permanently filled. Yeah, you can stash them on a trip to town, but there are Harbingers in most zones, so you’re just going to pick them up again almost right away.

If they’re going to keep adding more and more shard types, maybe they need to give us another way to carry them around. Like when Marvel Heroes changed their various currencies from actual inventory items, instead putting them into a separate UI screen.

Good idea!

I’m glad they shortened the lab but I’m still not a fan.
My templar is near the end of A4 and hasn’t done any of the trials yet. I guess I should switch from wand to scepter, pick up leap slam, and go take care of that, sigh.

Blizzard did that with crafting mats, making them go magically into a cloud stash of sorts. That was so much better.

Don’t think we’ll see it in POE while Currency Stash tabs exist a microtransaction.

They can just add a currency bag microtransaction, even if it had smaller capacity it could give you some extra slots to store those items out on the road.

I’d prefer if they just moved the currency tab “into the cloud”, though.

It’s not so much the currency items themselves (i.e. Chaos Orb) that bother me, it’s the shards (i.e. Chaos Shard). Nor is it stash that’s a problem, but rather main inventory. There’s no need to make currency stash tabs obsolete or completely overhaul the currency system by making all currency non-inventory items of some kind.

A micro-transaction bag like @KevinC recommended would be fine, ideally if it had one slot specific to each kind of shard. When you gathered enough shards, the completed currency item either automatically pops into your inventory, or if it’s full the bag glows or something to tell you to make room.

Dunno. I don’t feel like harbinger shards have affected my cadence of murder and vendors.

Agree that the D3 change to crafting mats was wonderful for QoL though.

Dumb question: was this always on steam? I feel like I bought it years ago and paid like twenty bucks or something to unlock stash tabs from the developer, but I might be delusional.

No, I think it wasn’t originally on steam.

It was definitely not on Steam when it first launched. I got into it prior to steam and I still access it independently.

@Misguided I wonder if you have multiple accounts, from playing it from the beginning and then playing it on Steam but not linking your account? If so it’s possible you purchased stuff on the standalone version and the Steam version doesn’t recognize that because you’re using a different account?

Don’t think I’ve played it on steam. I think I played a bit ages ago, but I honestly can’t remember for sure if I actually played or just watched footage. I know I THOUGHT about getting it.

Is the worst that comes out of the whole situation is that you pay for extra stash tabs twice, well, the developers have earned it!

However, you should really pay for the premium stash tab bundle… That’s the one to get!

That’s the only one I’ve ever needed. It’s about time for me to spend a little more on this, however. Anything you all could recommend?

In other news, I’ve started a frost blades ranger to get moving. So far, I’m a little bored. I love summoners but am a little burned out on them. I’ve done ED. Tried blade vortex last league.

Was thinking of some kind of scorching ray build. Thoughts (on that or in general)?
