There’s a some sort of special tab bundle – the one that includes the currency tab, an essences one, a divination card one and the quad tab… That’s what I call … it it’s the one that’s four times bigger than the other tabs.
If you have that package then I’m not sure what else to get except some sort of cosmetic effects for whatever spells you like. Lots of people like pets but I don’t see the need to have one tagging along with me.
@Hotfreak I am playing a scorching ray build described above. I’m early in act 4 and it seems pretty solid. It is supposed to have righteous fire also so I’m getting a ton of regen in the tree as I level so it should be pretty resilient. Killing speed seems decent, but I think to move faster through zones you have to get used to blasting everything and just letting them die from burning damage.
My wife heard me dictating that and said “I hear you talking about work again.” I like her sense of humor.
Found my account (it has two characters on it, the highest being like 23, so I never played much). Don’t see any transactions, so maybe I never bought anything.
I still buy whatever I buy from them directly from their site, so as to avoid Valve’s cut. I’d rather support the devs directly, and I think Valve will be okay.

My summoner made it past Dominus w.o. needing to portal; the adds provided enough corpses and the SRS burned his second form down quickly-looks like you were right that the nerf left them plenty strong. Meanwhile she found a unique starter sword so maybe I should start a duelist . What sword skills have some range and don’t require accurate housework? I guess ethereal knives, what else?
Blade vortex or blade flurry?
BF is wonderful and sidesteps all the unbelievably annoying melee targeting issues. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
A5 boss is…well, classic GGG boss design, I suppose. Make sure you have plenty of movespeed, because your life and armor are for nothing in the face of spoiler’s wrath. I spoiled its attacks after two instagibs, for what it’s worth.
I feel kinda lame that I’m doing a fairly classic Raider build (BF + whatever, Whirling Blades + FA + Fortify) and not taking advantage of all the neato new stuff. But it’s a damn fun build, for all that I’ve kiiiiiiiiinda fucked up the build and my defenses ain’t great.
So last time I played there was no labyrinth. My current build is pretty squishy (for my tastes anyway). Is there a lot of rip potential in there? Or does dying just end your lab run and keep you in HC?
The Lab is a serious deathtrap. Really stupid deathtraps as well…like timing puzzles you can’t see parts of etc. I hate the lab with a burning passion, probably more than anything I’ve ever hated in a video game.
I believe a death in the lab in hardcore is a death, I don’t think there’s any exception for it, otherwise it would be too easy to farm a hardcore character.
FWIW lab traps scale to your health (up or down) so you won’t automatically rip if you are new to the area.
That said, a good movement skill (Whirling Blades is generally ideal) and solid regen are your friends.
And yeah, dying in the lab resets the whole zone even for carebears.
Oh also the boss is a total asshole who gets assholier every stage. Fuck that guy.

How does the channeling aspect of BF work versus the new bosses? It seems you have to keep moving to avoid being 1-shot, how do you do that and still get enough DPS?
Sooooooo the first new boss I struggled with was the a5 boss, who is as we said classic GGG boss design.
My brotem kept the dps up while I dodged. <3 my totem, my brother, my dogg.

If you think lab is bullshit wait till you see the final boss of act 10. Now that is some next level craziness, I can’t imagine doing that fight on hardcore.
I got my raider to maps today and it’s pretty fun. Charging Dash is still a little wonky but the damage is pretty good considering how little I’ve invested into the character so far. The only two notable items that I have are Hyaon’s Fury (paid 10 chaos) and Thunderfist (paid 8 chaos) which I’m using as a pseudo 5L. About 95% of my damage is lighting so I had a pretty easy time coming up with the tree, links and future gearing ideas.

Ah,ok. Which totem are you usingand which do you think would work well? I guess the melee one fits the theme, but I’m concerned about needing to stay near it.

I may well run out of steam before then, we’ll see.especially since to get there I guess you need to do at least one more lab run. When do hc people tend to do the third, before or after finishing a10?
Not having played a scion since before the ascendancy system was even in I was not prepared for just how little her first ascendancy helps your character, especially if you don’t need the 40 stats for anything. 40 stats are nice, but there’s no immediate impact. I’m used to having a quick boost right after that first lab.
That said, now that I’ve gotten the cruel lab done and received my scion deadeye bonuses the Storm Burst build is taking off nicely. 6 deaths so far; 4 to first a5 boss, 2 to the 2nd one. I’m about in the middle of a9 now, so I’m anticipating some nastiness from a10 bosses as I haven’t spoiled myself on anything past 8. Given GGG’s tradition of making new bosses a bit hard then toning them down I’m glad I chose not to go for hardcore until I’ve learned the new fights.
Level 37 for my Templar, standing outside Kaom’s boss fight. Dominus was cakewalk, one of my easiest fights against him.
I have not picked up Ancestral Bond just yet, electing to swing over to the Witch area to pick up some lightning, shock and life nodes first, along with Minion Instability for my Zombie meat shields. That will probably be temporary, unless I decide to keep the meat shield. I also didn’t want to pick up AB until I had a decent 4L to suit. Currently running Spark/Ele-Prolif/Added Lightning/Innervate supported by a Conductivy curse and Orb of Storms. For some reason I am tankier than I have any right to be, running into mobs, popping OoS and going to town with Spark while my zombies run interference. Guess that 50% shock chance is handy, after all!
Dominus also dropped a Storm Prison unique, so that’s giving me pretty much permanent maxed power charges. Means I am down a mobility skill until I get of my ass and replace Leap Slam.though.
There, a10 down and indeed the final boss is a mess. I’m going to have to wait for a nice walkthrough to help me figure out what I’m doing there because all I did was run around, throw aoe, and die. Repeat. About 4 or 5 times until the boss died.
The beginning was alright, I was managing to dodge most of the effects but when it all goes nuts there’s just so much going on I have no idea what I was doing. I assume there’s a way to avoid a lot of that but I’m going to have to have it pointed out to me! Time to find a nice competent streamer with a good explanation.
I use Ancestral Brotector, but Warchief would work just as well. Or the other way around, I never remember. Why they made two skills so similar, I have no idea.

I wonder if they’ll nerf it a bit before I get there, but they may wait until next league. What level were you at the final boss?

When you fought Innocence and did you stay near the totem or run behind a statue?
