I’m not using this as described, but maybe it would help
If it’s not too difficult, would someone describe how portal scrolls work in Maps?
I tried to use one and it took me back to the map laboratory place, but it didn’t provide the standard return portal. I had to use one of the already existing portals on the machine to get back. I’m guessing you can only portal back to the map, in any fashion, that limited number of times, is that right?
And if you do portal back to the map laboratory, can you leave to go to your stash and come back? Or will the portals/map be shut down if you leave that area?
Yes, you can leave and come back. And yes, you can only re-enter that many times.
Once you have done your first mission for Zara, you can invite her to your hideout and she will give you a map device to use there. That makes getting to your stash much more convenient.
And you think that’s wacky? Wait till you find her inside a map…
Edit: so, I had an Abyssus drop. This would be a phenomenal item for my Juggernaut if I were using a crit build. Pretty good rolls (24/111/120/41). It only has one socket, but I could easily fix that if I wanted to sell it. Not sure I want to mess with that.

Wait till you find a Trial in a Zana map :).
Also, sell the Abyssus. Increased phys dmg taken is huge, especially if you’re not used to it. It will ruin your mapping experience, trust me.
I did today. Well, actually, no. I failed her daily today because I found my first trial and the mission was timed. But it wasn’t a mission inside another map.
I have a stupid amount of armor (don’t ask, you don’t want to know) so I don’t take much physical, but as I said, it won’t help this character much anyway. Would you suggest making it a 4-link before I try to sell it?

No need, 4L is dirt cheap. If inc phys dmg taken is 43% or lower you can easily get 45c for it.
So peeps that are looking for a given unique will either browse for a 5L/6L and pay the premium, or not care because 4L’ing as a foundation is cheap as chips?

Depends. If we’re talking slots that can roll 6 sockets (twohanders, bows, chests) then you either look for:
- top rolls, regardless of sockets and links
- 5L regardless of rolls (people who are new to the game and read build guides most often pick this option)
- 6L with top rolls, because if you’re spending 400c+ you don’t want a shitty roll.
Early in the league when buying power is lower you can also sell mid tier rolls for popular uniques.
Appreciate the advice. I bought another stash tab to make public. I’ll try selling it later. I have to say, as much as I wish there were an in-game market so I didn’t have to deal with whispering other players, the way they have this implemented where you can list stuff directly from your stash is pretty damned cool. The few trades I’ve done have been pretty painless.
Ok, so I’ve made a tab public and set a price, but it isn’t showing up on poe.trade. Is there something else I need to do? I thought making shop threads and stuff wasn’t necessary with the public tabs.
edit: nevermind. It worked, it just took awhile for some reason. Then I got 4 whispers in about 3 seconds.
Amen, brother. I used some of the third-party apps before they had the public tab thing, and it was kinda a pain. Nothing against those app developers, they did a great job with what they had to work with, but it’s just so much smoother now.
Now, if poe.trade would just be a bit more discriminatory on the ads they serve. I hate to adblock the site since the guy running it deserves some recompense, but after the second one that locked up Chrome, I had to switch on the blocker.
I’m sad to read how much Immortal Call has been nerfed in version 3.0. Surviving in hardcore was hard enough in this game, but I had dreams and delusions of creating a character with Cast On Damage Taken tied to Immortal Call tied to Extended Duration or whatever it’s called. My Softcore Dual Fire Totem Which in 2.1 used to die despite having that combo, but at least it gave me a lot more survivability. But apparently in 3.0, that’s been nerfed so badly that it only gives you 1.5 seconds of Immortal Call or something, so it’s totally not worth setting up anymore.

Main function of IC is the same as it had always been - prevent burst damage. And for that purpose it’s still extremely useful. I mean, there’s a reason why nearly everyone who’s playing endgame uses it.
I think the base duration at level 1 is like .4 seconds or something
Yeah, I read over the weekend on someone’s Juggernaut build that CWDT+ Immortal call was no longer worth because even with longer duration and leveling them up, it only goes up to 1.5 seconds, so it wasn’t worth even setting up anymore.

Have there been significant changes to CwDT+IC setups since 2.1? I thought all the big nerfs were in 2.0.
It’s still just fine, yeah.
It’s my understanding that IC still performs its role by alleviating the killer damage spikes in the boss fights that frequently result in deaths. Just not the lengthy protection desired. Although the base duration goes up a lot with endurance charges, if you have those.

Why would you take IC on a jugg anyway? Each endurance charge provides 4% phys reduction so it’s far better to have a permanent 32-36% reduction from charges alone, not to mention the regen if you take Kaom’s Way, or increased damage boost by picking the relevant ascendancy node.
Whoever wrote that either doesn’t know what he’s talking about or he’s some super careful hardcore player that really doesn’t want to die, lol.
LOL, yeah, I actually still have it slotted, but my phys damage reduction is silly. What I really need is a better way to get endurance charges. On the down side, on my Juggernaut, the lab traps don’t bother me. That’s good, because I suck at avoiding them. Not sure how that’s going to play out on my hierophant, however…
