Just had a crash on Win10, but I’ve literally had the client running all day.
Molten Strike, for the record, is hilarious. I am amused.
Hah nevermind, Torchwood Grove is apparently a hard crash. Great.
As in, a bug that affects lots of people? Ick.
BTW, anyone in Tempest have a Faster Projectiles gem? An LMP or GMP wouldn’t be bad either, though I’m not quite there yet. Just cleared the dry lake a couple of times to get my level up before I tackle the mines. Swapped in Chaos Golem for Firestorm; toss totem, cast Flammability, Incinerate when they get too close, let the totem and golem boy whack on things.
I just put a Faster Projectiles in the guild stash. It’s min level 52, but there’s Orbs of Regret in there too if you need to drop it down.

Before he wastes any orbs of regret - it’s actually scouring orbs that you need to sell along with the gem to delevel it.
Cool; I actually used that poetrade site to buy one for one c. Had never done any trading before, and it went off well–instant response from the guy online, very cool. But thanks!
No idea. It’s repeatable for me, though.
One of those types of orbs resets the gem to level one and the other one merely takes it down one level. I forget which does which though so I always have to try both.

Right, that’s another option. Scouring only goes down 1 level for each.
Regret decreases to one. Both of these are vendor recipes.

I’ve just tried Hall of the Grandmasters for the first time (#justsoftcorethings) and it’s really fun. With a little clever use of game mechanics™ I was able to clear quite a few level 90 waves (I’m lvl 87 myself) but after that I usually died to burst damage. Still, I got one of the cards from Atziri’s Disfavour set which goes for ~1.5ex at the moment. Not bad for a map worth 3 chaos!
Got a ring from Elreon that is like -9 mana cost; that plus my -5 mana cost necklace means my Incinerate is effectively unlimited; no matter how long I hold down the button, it won’t run out of mana. Right now I’m running Chaos Golem, Herald of Thunder, Clarity, and Arctic Armor. I’ve run out of room though on the hotbars, so I can either use Firestorm (which is great for clearing out tunnels) or Flammability, but not both, and there’s also no room for Herald of Ice. But really, right now totem and flamethrower and Gomer the Golem seem to do the job. My big worry is mobility; I have no “get out of jail free” ability to teleport me away. When I trigger stuff like boxes I have to have the totem out and be ready to spam fire super fast to avoid spike hits.
The tip on Elreon rings for twinks/alts is so good.
PopcornMachine the Molten Strike Marauder is living up to his name. Shitloads of block, plus a terribly murderous Molten Strike, more or less make him an unkillable death machine through A2C. I am amused.
For toggles (i.e., abilities you turn on and never turn off) I cycle through one slot and turn them all on, then replace that slot with something that requires keypresses. So in your case I’d set the Q slot to Arctic Armor, press Q to turn it on, set Q to Herald of Thunder, turn it on, set Q to Clarity, turn it on, set Q to Herald of Ice, turn it on, then set Q to Chaos Golem (and leave it there, since I assume you have to summon him periodically).
Also, do you have a movement ability? Flame Dash is pretty good for that (as is Lightning Warp if you link it to Faster Casting and Less Duration). I read a tip with Flame Dash - bind it to the left click ability - if you do this, then just holding down left click will make you run as you do normally. However, if you hold down the “stay in place” key (which I’ve set to spacebar) and then left click, it will trigger your left click ability. So when I trigger boxes I click the box, then hold spacebar and left click a couple of times to get away from the box.
I find it hard to believe you need Firestorm in addition to Incinerate. That seems like a “more win” spell given how Incinerate is so crazy strong.
Also, another possibility - if you have the free links - is to have a “cast when damage taken” gem linked to Chaos Golem (and Firestorm if you feel like it). This gem triggers and casts linked spells when you take a certain amount of damage. If you did that, you’d never have to worry about casting Chaos Golem manually again (and actually, when you link a gem to a CWDT gem, you can’t cast it manually any more). I have an incinerate Templar that has 3 CWDT gems, linked to Frost Wall, Firestorm, Chaos Golem, Enfeeble, Warlord’s Mark, Tempest Shield, and Molten Shell. It’s crazy when they all go off! The cool thing about this setup is that the abilities don’t fire off UNLESS you took a big hit - and then you get all these offensive/defensive abilities going off to help you.
Don’t have a CWDT yet; I’m only 40 and haven’t even seen that gem.
Firestorm I use for the range; I can cast the totem and the storm out front to thin out packs. Incinerate is brutal up close but lacks a bit of reach. But yeah, Firestorm is fairly optional right now. Not sure that Flammability is any better though; maybe Temporal Chains instead.
I watched some videos on the Act IV fights. I’m in the Arena getting set to do the Daresso run. He and Kaom seem tough but pretty straight-forward. Piety seems just mostly long; run around, get behind the beam, whale on her butt for a while, rinse, repeat. Malachai seems like a brutal, long, and dangerous fight for sure. Gulp.
My plan is to level up in the mines until I’m four over the Daresso and Kaom stuff.
CWDT is a level 38 gem I think (I just found one this morning on one of the Forsaken Masters). Pretty sure Templars don’t get it for sale though.
The Act IV fights aren’t terribly hard (even though I’ve died to them!). Most of them just involve moving around a lot (which is sort of a pain when you’re using Incinerate). The Malachi fight is long but I find he doesn’t do much damage (even the wiggly shield thing he shoots out didn’t do much damage to me). The thing I worry about most in the Malachi fight is the red circle that chases you around in the last phase (after you destroy all 3 hearts). That sucker hurts!
You are close to getting CWDT at the vendor (or as a reward, but frequently people are more focused on MS/Spell Echo/GMP).
Everybody gets it (and those other gems) at the a4 vendor once that quest is done.
Yeah, running and incinerating is tough but that’s why Mr. Totem comes along for the ride.
So dispatched Daresso and went to see Kaom. Ported out because the tempest was the one that pounded a rain of ice and ice golems on you. Ick. I’ll go back when it’s something else, preferably nothing.
I couldn’t resist the lure of Tempest, so I re-created a Righteous Fire-Incinerate Templar. Currently going through normal and not having any issues.
On one of my other characters I found one of those Unique boxes in the mines - thought “why not!” and I opened it. Man, talk about death and destruction on the screen! It spawned a rogue totem that had Arsonist’s Mark (or whatever that mod is that killed one of my other characters). It’s the mod that, when you get slightly in view, throws a level 500 Firestorm all over the screen. All I could do was throw down a fire totem and run the other way. I considered abandoning it out of a sense of preservation but I finally wore it down and got something like 3 unique amulets and some other unique (one of them was the summoner amulet so all in all a good haul). Definitely a scary time though (especially in the mines with all the skinny corridors).
