I have 800 hours in the game. While bugs certainly exist, they’re usually very deep into the class abilities. I posted in this thread how the Reach Spell feat doesn’t work right with the Eldritch Archer’s Ranged Spellstrike. There are plenty of examples like that. It’s a complex game.

Then there’s the Baleful Polymorph bug. Enemies that are Baleful Polymorphed don’t drop loot. They should, but they don’t. Apparently the loot is still there, but invisible, so you can screw around with placing items in the enemy’s inventory to make their actual loot pop out… or something. I just don’t take Baleful Polymorph.

But generally, the game is fine.

Or you have been lucky.

There are UI bugs I can reliably reproduce. And those are very easy to test and shouldn’t be hard to fix. I also had bugs like people getting stuck in place. One quest didn’t work. Nothing gamebreaking, usually fixed with reload. And I could find a lot of people having the same problems. But this is Enhanced Edition and it feels like rushed release version.

Besides, this game has a lot of complex mechanics. And when something doesn’t work the way you expect you can’t trust developers that it’s how it’s supposed to go. It might always be a bug.

The beta patch 2.1 for this dropped today, so if anyone wants to check out the big patch/update with turn-based (a little early) that’s happening! I’m going to give it a whirl, for sure.

I’m enjoying the beta patch. I never did try the turn-based mod but I’m really liking turn-based in this patch. There are a few quirks that I’m hoping will be worked out before release.Sometimes it seems like if I move first before taking a normal action I’m unable to take the action after. I’m staying in the ‘green’ which should mean I’m only making the basic move.

Can anyone make the controller work? When the option to push A or press Enter comes up, nothing happens when I push A.

I haven’t tried it (nor would I ever), but I think you’ll get more luck posting on the official forums (or even on Steam).

Hahahahahahaha… lol.

But yeah, the official forums is probably a good bet.

Is there something here we should talk about?

It’s a personal preference, but myself I can’t imagine how much of a PITA it would be to control a party of 6 characters and manager their inventory, level them up, equip them with potions and scrolls, and etc. using a controller. I know that’s the only option if you want to play on console, so I wouldn’t begrudge someone that had no choice, but on PC? I don’t get the appeal. Some games are made for controllers, but turn- and party-based RPG’s are not one of them (plus I prefer playing in real time in any case).

I figured you wanted to talk about it ;-)

Anyways - it can be done, and quite well. Divinity Original sin 1 and 2 both have excellent controller support. The trick is not just to add controller support to your game, but to make the UI controller friendly as well - That takes time, something that I hope will Owlcat will devote to the task.

The benefit, which you can get as well, is that you suddenly have a game you can play on a big TV screen, in all its glory, instead of pouring over a small, 15 or 17 inch screen or whatever people use these days. All the while sitting with your SO and letting him or her enjoy your game as well, and suddenly, gaming isn’t reclusive, but inclusive and fun! -. Whats not to love?

“You got your couch gaming in my RPG!”

No need to fight! I give you the couch keyboard and mouse gentlemen.

I’ve seen those mentioned a few times before - Is this something you have tried, and can tell how well it works?

I don’t have the Razer one, but something similar:

Works really well, it’s how I do a lot of my PC gaming from the couch. It has comfy padding on the bottom so just plop it on your lap and game away.

Actually, I would too if I could get a decent setup.

I have used the very good Razer Turret for Xbox, which works great on PC and shouldn’t be confused with the awful original Razer Turret. I also tried the mechanical version of the Roccat Sova, which is similar to the Corsair posted above.

Razer Turret for Xbox advantages: Wireless or wired options. All day battery life for both the keyboard and mouse. Good mechanical feel on the keyboard. High DPI on the mouse. Slide out mouse pad is slightly magnetic, which helps keep the mouse from sliding around. Razer Chroma compatible if you like RGB.

Disadvantages: Range on the 2.4Ghz receiver is not great. I have a worst case setup, with a bunch of USB3 devices hooked up nearby and a metal media center. Putting the receiver on a USB extension cable solved this. Pass through charging from the keyboard to the mouse doesn’t work well - I charge the mouse directly from the wall instead. Bit uncomfortable due to lack of any padding. I use a basic lapdesk with a beanbag bottom with it.

Roccat Sova advantages: Very comfortable. Good mechanical keyboard feel. Large mousepad area.
Disadvantages: Wired only. No mouse included. Heavy. Mousepad doesn’t retract.

Awesome, thanks a lot both of you! So the Rocat is fine? The razor it twice the price, and not really available in Europe, meaning I get toll as well on top of the price, but a store here in DK has the Roccat it seems.

Keep in mind the Roccat Sova is just a keyboard - no mouse included. You’ll need to buy that separately.

Sure - I have that- A wireless logitech something. Am I missing something, or is that not so consequential? I mean, if thats all the difference between double the price, I am fine with it :-)

If you want something small, simple, and cheap, something like this may suffice:

This is what I’m using on the couch to drive my PC when I’m not using a controller. It feels pretty solid, is backlit, rechargeable, and has a (small) touch pad. Works ok in games though I wouldn’t want to be doing too much dragging and dropping on it…

I figured if I absolutely needed a massive full keyboard and mouse setup to play something I’d just sit at the desk and do it.

Any mouse should work fine, so your Logitech is fine.

As long as you are OK with the USB cable strung from the Roccat to your computer it is a great keyboard.

Áwesome- thanks again for all the great information! I trust you guys here a helluva lot more than any reviews online!
