Maybe you should lurk a little longer?

Speaking of doomed… just got my XBox back, repaired, and I tried out a used version of Morrowind Gold I’d picked up cheap. Urk. Doing something as simple as walking around is a lot clumsier… it works, but the whole thing feels like a game written for the PC and poorly adapted for the XBox. IIRC, they actually worked on both from the start, but it feels like a port.
Maybe Oblivion will be better? But until I hear otherwise, I’m planning on sticking with the PC version.
I was anticipating Jade Empire on PC but when it came out and I read the reviews I decided I wasn’t really all that interested anymore… what I am looking forward to is the Movies. :)
I’m looking forward to the Movies shipping too, because I’ve been working on it for twenty thousand years.
PC gaming isnt doomed, the fact that sales are 19.9 bazillion down from 19.6 bazillion is no big deal. Online sales are probably mroe than compensating for the difference, and MMORPGS alone must rake in big numbers.
I AM sick of the same old crap being released every year, no more WW2 or modern day FPS games please. Its sad that the only format that has no licence holder deciding what makes it onto the platform, is not nearly risky enough when it comes to new ideas.
I think a smaller PC market may mean that the ‘big players’ like EA ignore the market, but to be honest that cant come too soon, all the more room for smaller players who actually LIKE PC games and make games aimed at us, rather than mere hacky console ports.
Also-
Every single game he mentioned is out or coming out on PC as well, hehe.
So are you guys going nuts trying to make sure no one attempts to make Hot Coffee with The movies?
That’s what the death of PC gaming means to me. I couldn’t care less about sales figures, but the fact that there are no can’t-miss games coming out and haven’t been any for a year means I probably won’t be upgrading my PC anytime soon.
The Movies and Civ 4 are the only games that interest me, but both have a good chance of not living up to the hype. I have no interest in Yet Another RTS or FPS when there are games like Pikmin 2 and Katamari Damacy that I haven’t played yet.

oh hell, I didnt even think of that. Hope the release before some ‘smart’ person decides everything needs to be as unmoddable as possible, and I fucking hope I can edit textures. (whats the point otherwise? everything about making a movie EXCEPT how everything looks?)

man, dont get me started on it. I think nobody has done more to wreck the future of modding than rockstar and their ‘oops we left a shagging scene in the game’ bullshit. It certainly affected the modding attitude of big publishers.
