Druids and priests have more than enough casts, it only really hurts wizards. And they still might be worth bringing along later in the game, just not in act 1. There’s rings of wizardry that add additional spell casts and the higher level spells are pretty strong.

Buddy of mine beat the game and completely cleared the big optional side-dungeon and clocked out at 42 hours.

He must have skipped a ton of stuff or he just doesn’t read the lore books and such. There’s a lot more than 42 hours in here for me. I’m still finishing up everything I can in the first big town before moving on with the main quest and I only recently started dabbling into the mega-dungeon. (haven’t even gone past level 5 yet)

All Path of the Damned does is increase the difficulty. Trial of Iron is the ironman mode.

Welp, just run into a progression halting bug in Raedric’s Hold. Dang.

What is it?

From what I’ve seen it’s; Leave “the wrong way” after dealing with Raedric and the game starts loading empty maps.
Didn’t get it myself.

Yep, that’s it exactly. I’m now stuck in Raedric’s Hold. I don’t think any of my save games work now. Obsidian says a fix is coming in the first patch.

Not really sure how you’d avoid it. Maybe just avoid that quest until the first patch.

How did you exit the castle right after you talked to Raedric? Did you leave through the big middle entrance? I remember a scripted event there and I think that this event is the culprit depending on how it’s triggered or not triggered.

None of your saves work or you just have none outside Raedric’s hold?

I’m glad I’m playing catch up with everyone here meaning that someone else is seeing a bug first. Avoided the double-click bug too, so far!

But I’m creating save games repeatedly just in case.

I’ve been saving excessively as well, to the point where the game spends ages loading my saves when I boot it up. I gotta get rid of some of those. Didn’t get the double click bug nor the Raedric one, fingers crossed.

Raedric? I killed the mtherfucker.

I heard before on the internets that he has a trap setup where you are surrounded by enemies. So I had my dog companion byte on one guard leg. That triggered everyone to kill me, while I had setup a trap of my own inside a room in the side, I killed them all one by one, but it was still a long fight and most of my people ended unconscious. Did not triggered any bug, and after the revels take over the castle everyone was friendly tome.

I think this might have been answered already but when initiating dialogue whose attributes are used? I assume its the main character? So if I have low Intelligence then I won’t get those options and it doesn’t make a difference if I use Aloth?

Main character only, so you don’t have to worry about making characters that have everything in one package.

Ta.

Ok I’m about 4 hours in and have a good grip on it. I’m a bit bored by my generic Human Fighter with 19 might.

I reckon I’ll reroll a Ranger tonight and restart with some higher dialogue affecting attributes to get the most out of the quest options.

I should be able to skip most of the early dialogue to get back to where I was fairly quickly.

I love watching my druid transform into a giant werewolf, bash the living shit out of something, and then revert back to human form with an echoing growl and an end to the battle music. :) It’s the simple things.

My ranger with a wolf is a real killer - and the wolf packs quite a punch as well, and doesn’t die quickly. Good times!

This hits a lot of my thoughts so far as well, though I’m nowhere near as far in as many. I am enjoying the game, and really appreciate what the team has done, but yeah, there are a lot of things I’d love to see worked on for a follow-on game. Glad I Kickstarted it though, for sure.

I had the same thing happen. If you don’t care about achievements, you can turn on cheats and teleport your party to gilded vale. I’m glad I did because I’d be pretty salty by now, still waiting on that patch…

I was rarely excited to find another piece of gear. In some cases I found no upgrades at all. For instance I never found an upgrade for Kana Rua’s gun.

In the city of the bay theres a brothel, on the top theres a private club where you can only enter if you have a special members ring, there is a special vendor that sells high quality gear, weapons, armour, pistols, … maybe you can find a upgrade there.

I know what you say, I feel the same, Pillars feels like Doom1 or BG1,… not has epic as it can be.
