I like it a lot. I’m probably somewhere between your enthusiasm and the other guys who just ‘like it’. It can be a bit chaotic managing battles where there are a lot of enemies - like level 2 of the Endless Path. I get my fighters engaged and try to control things and usually succeed in that regard, but it can be difficult to then get a wizard in position to cast a spell like Fan of Flames. Fireball and venomous clouds are easier since you can lob them past your allies, but some of the other spells can be difficult to use. Maybe their intended to be cast by wizard / fighter types who stay on the front lines. That might make more sense.
I like the action point based system in Divinity OS better, but this combat is so much better as a whole. I would like mechanics of the AP based system merged with the content of this system.
Curious, what autopause options do you have set (everyone share, the more the merrier)?
I currently have pause on combat start (with auto slow) and hidden object found. I’ve been thinking of enabling some of the other ones, but can’t decide which ones.
It’s the story, characters, dialog options, text adventures that really set it apart. Plus the combat is good despite some frustrations.

I’m using ability finished/spell casted/target destroyed. Sometimes they overlap, of there was an ultra slow mode I’d probably just use pause on spell casted.
On memorable items, I found this bow:

Now stuff like this happens:

I think there’s a Jolting Touch dagger at the first store. Might need to get one of those…
The only auto-pause I have are enemy started (and then halt movement), secret found, and low endurance and low health. The rest tend to just annoy me when they trigger, and I don’t really need them. I can’t imagine having it auto-pause ever X seconds, for example.
I’m obviously a huge fanboi at this point, so I’ll try to offer more advice and suggestions than gushing, if possible. It’s probably not possible. This game is everything I like about RPG’s and tactical combat in one package, which is super, super rare for me. I like a lot of games, but I love a precious few.
EDIT - Just saw that sweet bow zombo posted. I’ll add to it another item I found recently that has a Spell Striking ability, which are always super amazing finds:

And still has room enough for a 2 point enchant, like a Corrosive Lash!
I only have auto-pause on at the start of battle and when a character’s endurance is low. I am even thinking about turning off the latter one. I find the auto-pause really annoying since I am already pausing so much I keep hitting the space bar right after it auto-pauses accidentally resuming the combat leading to some disaster!
I am pretty close to just having auto-pause at combat start (paired with slow time perhaps) and then just manually pause as I see fit. Too many auto-pauses grate on me. I would rather action scripting over auto-pause, but my manual pausing works well enough for me and keeps me on my toes.

I have to ask at this point - is there anything about the game you don’t like?
This is you, right? :)

Is that the aftermath of 3rd Level Wizard spell Concelhaut’s Draining Touch?

Inquiring minds and all.

I think an Auto Pause after a spell or effect has been used (so you can set up the next one right away) and auto pause when Chanters are ready.
I like the game. I think the mechanics need a little tweaking (some people are suggesting that Constitution should mitigate Armor Penalties, making it nice for heavy armor tanks that usually have enough HP as it is) but I like the system.
I wonder if other games will come out that use the same mechanics, or scale them above 10. I understand that there might be an expansion pack, but I would enjoy a more IceWind Dale like Experience. Straight up adventure game for those that just want to fight and kill.
Also, has anyone played the priest as their main? Does the required deposition hurt or help the experience, but usually I am a good two shoes, but I really like Wae, with the perk to rods and staffs.
The save issue really sucks. Hitting F5 used to be instantaneous. Now it’s like 30 seconds of the game being frozen.
Yeah, F5 is taking longer than it did 40 hours ago, that’s for sure, but it’s still only 10 seconds or so on an SSD so it’s not been terrible. I can still browse Qt3 on my other monitor while it’s saving! :)
Is it related to number of saves? Can’t you just delete some?

From what I heard, it’s based on the number of times you hit the save button. So, no.
They’re planning a patch this week though, hopefully it fixes the problem.
This is one of those times when RPS nails it:

I hit F5 probably every 5 minutes, I’m kinda obsessive about it. Some game or another I played tracked how many times I had quick saved (I forget what game it was) and by the end of the game it was over 1500 times. Heh.

Might and Magic X - Legacy by any chance? It certainly shocked me when I saw how many times I’ve saved over the course of a 50 hour campaign.
I think I’m going to set this aside until the save issue and the double-click error is fixed. At this point, it’s too annoying to continue, plus I’m risking a restart if they can’t make the patch retroactive.
LOL yeah, I am almost sure that was it.

Not sure if I read correctly. I’m playing a Berath Priest. The first perk I selected (I forget the name) negates the negative affect of your reputation/disposition on the healing/burning halo, so that lets you act more freely and less constrained by the god you pick.
