Heh. I’m in, now. Thanks, all.

The gold farmer spam is insane. It’s started up again in EQ2 as well; for a while it was all being caught and labeled spam, but now they are getting through as actual tells again. Sheesh.

Shame. I am completely lost in the economy (doesnt help that I’m back at work and can’t really put much time into the game for at least a week) but it was a fantastic suggestion. Thanks for giving it a shot.

Thanks, JM.

If members are still interested, I’ll continue to accept input from members (structures they’ve built and recipes their structures contain). Perhaps when everyone’s more comfortable with the economy (I know I’m not, yet!), this matrix will prove more useful.

Attention Stand & Deliver Pirates on Bonny

My Character on Bonny; Esta Putas now can make captured ships. Apparently if you trade in 10 Pennons in Tortuga to some guy in the fort you can get the Careening Camp that allows you to make ship deeds.

For the complete list of ships go here. http://potbsvault.ign.com/View.php?...etail&id=72

I can make you a ship if you need it, but you must provide me the materials for it(also listed in link) and I’ll gladly make it for you (just throw in some money for the labor, I guess some where in between 50-100db and hour would be nice, labor times are listed)

I have yet to build a ship but according to the FAQ It should pump out 3 deeds per build.

If you have an Nvidia 8xxx card and are experiencing flashing ocean textures, go here (http://www.burningsea.com/page/downloads/nvidia) to download the newest drivers from Nvidia that correct the problem.

I’m currently pretty cool on the economy myself. Intellectually I understand how things work and why it should be fun but I’m not quite bored yet with blowing the crap out of ships. And other folks in our Society seem to be hog-wild about its so’s I’m leaving all that up to them. If they need items or production of something I’ll help out with a structure just for them. As it is, I’ve got a couple small facilities that make easy to produce consumables but even then I end up somewhere else, needing something right away, and buying it on the market rather than shipping back home.

I really am looking forward to Society HQs with shared storage down the road. Hopefully that’s close to top of the list. Because the logistics of trying to coordinate production chains between people who may or may not be on at any given time, or who might be halfway across the Caribbean, just isn’t doing it for me. But, then again, other folks in my Society are happy as clams.

Thanks for the driver link Mysterio, thank god!

Also, to verify what Esta Putas said, I did buy a deed for an Argamemnon Bark. It comes as a single deed with 3 “charges.” You could use it to create 3x1 ships, or 1 ship with 3 durability. Quite worth the effort. Most of the items needed are simple and you can scavenge them. BUT, you will need “Ship provisions” which aren’t made by many folks yet and can be quite expensive. I needed 2 provisions for my Bark. The rest of the stuff (Hulks, masts, lumber, etc) was easy to buy or come by.

Hey Skip, new nvidia drivers found here:

Supposed to solve the ocean textures issue.

Hey guys,

I picked up the game recently and I have a pirate on Bonny I was hoping to get into the guild, but I was curious as to what’s the best way to look for members of a partcular guild online? Is there anyway to do that or do I just need to learn the names of people that can invite and look for them in game?

Thanks!

I mean: Arrr!

You should be able to send in game mails. Send one to One-Eye Willy (me) and I will invite you as soon as I can, which admittedly may not be until about 8pm-ish tonight. You can do the same with the list of players on (I think) page three of this thread and one of them may be able to do the same.

Oh, and while the timing was good with my son getting sick so I had to come home from work early and got into the port battle with New Orleans, as most of you know (that were online yesterday), it was disastrous. 22 French vs 8 Pirates. We had discussed quitting early so we wouldn’t lose our ships, but decided in the end to act like pirates and went after them. Only one kill, but it was their Ship of the Line, so we felt good about it.

I understand why they make it exactly 48 hours after the port hits -10k points, but that works not so well in practice if a port hits that point on Saturday or Sunday before 5pm-ish. I hope that they can make some sort of change to do this so we can get full battles for a change.

Game ordered. With luck I’ll get it by next weekend. Does anyone know of an “official” or semi-official South Pacific/Australasia server? I’d enjoy playing on Bonny, I know, but playing with one’s timezone always wins out in the end.

Sweet, a fellow Frenchman on Morgan. I think I’ve seen you in nation chat a few times. I’m Ron Mexico there.

And yes I originally had it rolled on Spanish but all my a-hole friends INSISTED on French.

Antigua is the unofficial Australian server.

I’ve got the game, but only one account and my wife has seized it! Got lots of work the next few weeks so probably better in end, but I’ll be getting piratical in early March I reckon.

Antigua, Bonny, Antigua, Bonny… darn!

Can’t you create separate characters on each…?

I like to stick with one… Probably will go Antigua and hang out with my Aussie/Kiwi bros.

I just picked this up as well. Keep an eye out for Bootstrap Joe once I get a chance to install and create him!

Question: Could a lovely, honest citizen wander over to the regional capital of San Juan to turn in all my commendations? I notice a big red circle and I’m wondering whether wading there with my fallback ship is safe.

Question 2: I tried this teleport with ship thing I read about - Was the feature removed? Would be nice to park cheap ships in San Juan so I could port over… It’s a 20-30 minute trip through deadly level 40 NPC pirates.

  1. There are no honest citizens in San Juan you dirty Spaniard. Arrrr! In practice you can sail on through usually if you are careful. Take a crap ship just for the purpose if you have to. The fallback ship is fine, if it gets sunk you get it back again.

  2. Porting should work fine. I’ve not tired it in a port under contention though, perhaps they did that to avoid people cheating through it? At other times though, it’s like zoning but directly to a port where your ship is.

I had a reward chasse-maree moored in San Juan for just that purpose but moved it out to use it as logistical support for my main ship. Some ports you can’t build warehouses in so the chasse-maree served that purpose. Now, of course, I’ve got a pile of pennants to trade in there but don’t want to run the red circle and can’t teleport. Ah, well. It’ll pass.
