I think we may be confusing two things; the Aussie/NZ guys like Calistas are really concentrating on Antigua, which is different than the S&D guys who packed up and left suddenly from Bonny for Rackham.

Maybe the SA goons did the move? There were quite a few of them in the Society.

The Goons left? Was a goon the guild leader? Is the society pretty much dead now?

Ugh. I put too much time into my character on Bonny to want to move. I might just be done.

I believe Skipper mentioned that members from another website (SA?)–the website that was hosting the society forum–were being invited into Stand and Deliver.

Exactly. That’s what I’m thinking happened.

I’m not switching, but I’m not sure if any other Qt3 members switched. I sure hope they didn’t. Which Qt3 members are still in S&D on Bonny? Can we get a roll call? :-)

Well, whatever they did, they just totally moved out of the server and left a simple message. I dunno who did it or what.

Cliff Beefpile is still around. The question is… control I suppose.

Active Block is a good one to keep up most of the time, although I don’t know if I’d auto fire it as it’s wasted if it starts with little initiative.

You can still attack while Active Block is up. You might be thinking of Active Dodge, which counters one attack, but is cancelled if you attacked.

One trick I didn’t notice at first is that you can combine Active Block with Active Dodge/Parry – all 3 are on the same timer, but Active Block only triggers the cooldown when in finishes. I’d typically have Active Block up, and throw in Active Dodges right after I attacked, switching to Active Parry if my balance got low.

I’m still Pirate on Bonny, though I haven’t been playing much due to real life hecticity.

Can’t say as going British on Rackham sounds terribly interesting… joining the biggest faction on one of the busiest servers? Yawn!

Oh hell, do we not have a society anymore? Are we not playing on Bonny? I’ve got my pirate up to level 15, and have been having a lot of fun… I really don’t want to abandon him to go to some other server. :(

No kidding, and there’s no “may be” about it. Do some of you guys actually read threads before freaking out? Krok made a pirate on Antigua. I made a pirate on Antigua because my Bonny character is British. Calistas made a pirate on Antigua. Most of the recent discussion has been about two brand new Oz/NZ players being pirates on Antigua because the game just came out for them. Nobody said anything about Stand and Deliver. Then somebody mentioned Stand and Deliver weirdness and certain people threw a hissy fit about Antigua, because apparently, their brains are fucking broken.

It’s pretty easy to get it all confused; besides, there is a very legitimate reason to get freaked out. The Society that we all talked about and what this very thread hinged around suddenly up’d and left Bonny, which the thread is actually partially named. Most of us played on there. You don’t think that’s worth freaking out about, a little, in its own relative way?

— Alan

Sure, you can freak out all you want about that. It has nothing to do with what I said.

Me thinks–to use your words–that your brain is fucking broken. Since you’re not a member of S&D, you do not have access to our society Message of the Day, which indicated that S&D was moving to a different server. Please return to your British duties, and keep your fucking broken brain out of S&D’s business.

Thank you.

Elsewhere on Bonny - Mandrake Grim along with Almirante Diaz and Capitan del Verde make a heroic last stand at Puerto Principe. Three against 24. Reports differ but we may have actually sunk a scout commanded by the infamous Bloddy Ninefingers (Britain’s equivalent of The Red Baron) before going under.

My first port battle - I figured “what the hell” and brought a frigate I was going to recycle anyhow. Spain’s A through Z Teams were busy elsewhere so five folks showed up in the ready room before the fight. Two suddenly remembered previous engagements.

Vanguardia is still growing and is possibly the biggest and certainly one of the best RP Societies on Bonny. We haven’t gotten deep into the RP yet but have fun interacting as our characters over chat or while we’re doing other things. It’s fairly hard to really plan an event in a game with such dynamism. You never know what shit’s going to hit the fan. Oddly, I don’t really mind it that much. The smart RP money is to just riff ICly off the actual events in the game rather than going overboard with “tea time” and small talk.

The indepth characterizations tend to come out more in forum short stories that get alluded to while we’re doing other things right now. Never been a big forum RPer but it’s fun reading what other folks come up with and seeing where Grim gets a mention here and there. He evidently makes an impression as the lone crusty old ex-pirate in the room.

I really can’t stop laughing at this. Oh no! I’m in S&D’s business on the Quarter to Three message boards! Call 911!

Except that I’m actually not (not that I’d care if I was), only you’re too busy having your little defensive spaz to notice.

…and this was never brought up here why again?

Why did S&D move?

— Alan

Something Awful kids got all emo and decided they wanted to join a winning team I am supposing… I could log into the forums but they are pretty painful ;)

So, do we have a society on Bonny, now?

I think I get it now.

I had no idea that Stand and Deliver was a Goon guild… I thought it was ours.

Well from what I understand it was born here, but some were SA goons, and goons invited more goons, etc.

Technically speaking the Society still exists on Bonny; I dunno who has control of it though.

shakes fist at SOE Need my server back up. My Hermes Packet just got reoutfitted and now god knows what it’s going to sail into! Probably the red zone I was pointed at? grrrrrs
