Has anyone tried any of these pasta dishes Pizza Hut is touting? Or the new All Natural Pizza thing? I haven’t caved in yet, but damn it to Hell, they almost have me.
The newest adds for the lasagna are killing me. My wife makes an awesome lasagna, but maybe theirs is…better? Certainly quicker…Hard to say at 7:30, “Hey, why don’t we make a nice homemade lasagna right now”, as we are helping the kids with homework. But to say, “Hey, let’s order some lasagna…” I like that option, if it’s any good.
I like their chicken alfredo a lot, but I had the lasagna over the weekend and it was no good. Actually left me pretty sick afterwords, I would stay away from it.
Can’t speak for the lasagna, but the mac n cheese is vile. Not anywhere near as good as boxed stuff. I certainly wouldn’t try any other varieties based on that experience.
Once in a while, about twice a year, I have an overwhelming craving to binge on their stuffed crust pizza with pepperoni, eating stupid amounts of it while pounding down cola…
I always regret it afterwards, but the urge returns eventually.
Their food is fantastic and always always fresh, they get stuff like their pasta creations actually from a pasta place that’s right next door that makes everything, the noodles, the sauce, everything new each day.
And price wise they’re competitive with everything but Little Caesars and their $5 pizzas.

^^^ This is me. Only it happens more frequently. Stuffed crust = awesome.
As for the pastas, I haven’t found any of them that great. Store bought mixes (chicken helper, etc) seem to taste as good or better. Store bought frozen mixes (Bertolli) taste a million times better. You can achieve the same effect of the Pizza Hut pasta meals by baking your own homade dish for the last 10 minutes of cooking. Considering the price on the Pizza Hut pastas, take that into consideration.
The one positive thing about being in Boston is that there’s not a Pizza Hut nearby. The place is vile and their food is horrible. Unfortunately, it just meant my ex bought a lot from Dominos, which I hadn’t gone to in years. Turns out, they’re way the fuck worse than Pizza Hut.
Of course, out here there’s a ‘House of Pizza’ on every corner.
A national chain with dirt cheap prices is not using the highest quality ingredients in their food. I hated Pizza Hut even when I was too young to afford decent food. It always tasted horrible to me, and almost always made me sick. Vile food-like substances.
The basic meat sauce pasta is pretty good actually. Not amazing by any means, but for the money and convenience it’s surprisingly good.
And yes, local pizza shops are obviously better than national chains. But Pizza Hut pizza is in its own kind of greasy, crispy niche, it’s not really the same thing as regular pizza.
But it’s so helpful to tell a random person on the internet how much better you or something related to you is. After all, he could be living right next door!
I actually haven’t eaten at (or from) Pizza Hut in a couple of years… we just have too many good alternatives – even of the mass-produced national-chain variety. Pizza 73 and Panago are both solid and competitive in terms of pricing. Pizza Hut’s “all natural” ingredients sound okay, but I’ve got too many memories of over-greased pizza to really want to go back.
