New album. She’s gone back to her roots. This one sounds like Rid of Me and Dry, only a touch more polished and mature. She’s bitter again, I wonder who fucked her over since the last album.
Anyway, I like it a lot.
I love it! PJ Harvey is up there as one of my modern favorites.
Given it one listen, pretty much passed me by. But then most albums do on the first few listens. I’m pretty sure I won’t like it as much as ‘Stories’ though.

I like the sound, because it reminds me of the tortured guitar and screech of early favorites. But after listening to it more, it isn’t much like Dry and Rid of Me. Not as weird. No odd strings like Man-Sized or the strangeness of Hook. It’s somewhere between those and Stories of the City. Maybe it’s a response to suddenly being an inspiration to idiots like Avril Lavigne? (I’m sure someone told Avril to say that.)

The thing I don’t like about the album is the liner notes or whatever. Looks like a self-absorbed 17 year old girl wrote them.
