It’s to buy AFAIK. No guarantees, I suppose. The Queue cuts down on botting.

As far as I’m aware, if you get lucky enough to get through the queue it means you’re guaranteed one for 10 minutes.
I’ve never made it into the queue soon enough to reach the end before they are OOS

It usually will refresh with a message at the bottom of the queue screen if it goes out of stock. I had been using the twitter link above when I was looking for one and just got lucky on seeing the PS Direct stock update thirty seconds after it went live. This was after losing to the bots twice at Walmart earlier in the day.

Nope. I just got through the queue with no notifications and it was still out of stock.
Plus this whole thing doesn’t work from Canada. I’d suspected as much but let things play out for curiosity’s sake.

Same here. First time that has happened without a notification on the queue page saying that the consoles are out of stock. Really fun that it gives you all that false hope and then pulls the rug out from under you. Guess they decided that Walmart’s idea of causing great despair by letting you add it to your cart really easily but making it impossible to check out was worth copying.

Well I picked up both consoles today and I’m just downloading games now for both, will take some time. One major difference I noticed is that when the PS5 Blu-ray drive has spun up it’s really loud. Xbox is a lot quieter. I’m looking forward to actually playing something tomorrow or Thursday ;)

I was amazed by the L2/R2 adaptive triggers in Astro’s playroom, especially when you get to use a little rocket ship to get around.
The frog suit “rumble” really impressed me too. I would just rock the controller from left to right and marvel at the feel of the spring bending.
