It’s was done in the last 2 years and features these 2 little girls in the bedroom. Downstais they hear their mother is home. Only problem is that they know mother is dead. So they try to sneak out and mother comes for them. The 2 little girls run, with only one of them getting into the bedroom, the other left to mother. It used speed lapses to give the appearance that the dead mother was superhumanely fast.
It’s called Mama and the director is Andres Muschietti. I thought most online copies were pulled once Guillermo del Toro signed a deal with the director to make it a feature length film, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Here it is on Daily Motion.
You mean aside from letting Muscietti direct it himself? :)
But, yeah, you’re right that del Toro seems hugely influential to the directors he takes under his wing. I’m curious to see how the remake for Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, which del Toro produced but someone else directed, turns out.

EDIT: Hmm, there’s nothing on IMDB about this. Wonder if it fell through?
