Political rant of the day, the conservative strawman

James Carville was on Crossfire. I don’t recall Crossfire being a paragon of enlightened discourse. I also don’t rank Carville as a demagogue like Moore or Coulter.

The real liberal strawman is, of course, Hillary Clinton.

Oh, I can top this shit.

I feel that every American has a duty to see to it that the corporate frankenfarms are broken apart and that land is given to the unemployed so that they can farm with the type of values that made America great. These farms and the economy must be overseen by the people, so that the people can ensure that the good that they need are manufactured instead of whatever product would make the most money for some corporate fatcat. Campaign finance reform does not go far enough, because corporate robber barons will always find a way around our regulations, this is why we need the federal government to manage the campaigns of all candidates with taxpayer support. However, the taxpayers should not be required to fund the candidacy of those super rich who intend only to take office to benefit their cronies.

The Pope and those like him are liars and thieves. We do not allow common thieves to perpetrate their schemes in the open without government prosecution, and so we ought to turn a jaundiced eye as well upon those uncommonly skilled liars and thieves who market tickets to so many bright pavillions, converting currency to foul ends with no regard for the people’s interests.

We also need to double the National Endowment for the Arts.

I can’t figure out this thread. So are you guys wondering if there are liberal equivalents to Limbaugh? Of course there isn’t because there are no successful liberal talk show hosts.

Or are you asking if there are liberal equivalents to inflammatory statements person like Coulter? If so, then there are plenty. They don’t do it as regularly as Coulter but it still happens.

But as I said, it’s a matter of perspective. You guys giggle when a liberal says something that would upset a conservative. And when Coulter says something stupid, you guys can’t wait to be the first one to start the thread and say how horrible it is.

And for those asking for links, I’m not even going to waste my time. It’s amusing enough to think you guys really don’t think there are liberals, fringe or otherwise, not saying inflammatory statements that may upset a conservative but make a liberal like yourself giggle with glee. Like say, I dunno, calling for the execution of Dick Cheney or saying our troops are terrorists. But again, things like this won’t be inflammatory to you cause you guys agree.

You’re right, Bob. I should totally be upset by the things you claim somebody said, somewhere. But what about all the times that Cheney called my Mom a bitch? I’m not going to waste my time with a link for that, though, because you probably agree she’s a bitch.

Aww shit, I’ve been captured. Buy more Viagra! Noooooooo!

Wha–? Where’s the cause and effect here? More people saying inflammatory shit will just provide further distraction from the issues that matter. The powers that be don’t care if you’re wasting time watching Fox, listening to Air America, or playing video games, as long as you’re wasting time doing something other than actually paying attention. I fail to see, even by whatever satirical logic you think you’re employing, how an increase in public idiocy will somehow magically produce positive societal results. In other words, yuri, fire your writing staff!

I have never, in the mainstream media (or otherwise actually), heard someone call for the execution Dick Cheney or call the troops terrorists.

Yes, but in Bob’s world, some random left-wing blogger spouting inflammatory crap is indistinguishable from Rush Limbaugh/Ann Coulter.
