I occasionally write up fiction based on peoples avatars on the forum, but I have to be in the right mood (bourbon inspired.) :)
Matilda tells me I’m working too hard. She might be right.

She’s got some serious eyebrows!
I love the paw on your hand. “Brian, look, we need to talk.”
I can play that game, too!

Sure, when a dog does it everyone says it’s cute. But when I do it, suddenly I’m that guy….
Total double standard.
We adopted a new cat 2 weeks ago, a 5-week-old ginger named Trinity. Here she is chilling on the seat while the house queen, Thomasina, looks on with her laser eyes:
They’ve been tolerating each other full-time for about 3 days now. Smacks and swipes have been steadily on the decline, hopefully they can start actually liking each other.

Have you found the need for Felliway?

I have a 2nd cat that I rescued from getting run over in a parking lot a couple months ago.
She was obviously someone’s pet. Fat (we assumed pregnant, but nope, just a chonker), fairly friendly, no idea that cars will run you over.
Things have adapted fairly well, though she’s a lot more distant than my other animals who basically bonded with me completely and became like dogs, following me around and whatnot. She’s aloof and acts like I’m the help, but she’s starting to realize she’s not going back home wherever that is.
I feel kinda bad, but we looked hard for an owner. No vets, ASPCA or anyone knew who she was or who owned her. The other cat is over the moon. He finally has someone to chase around and they seem to get along pretty well.
Of course as I started this she jumped into my lap and was super lovey dovey. Usually she just demands attention and then leaves.

Do you have a vet that can check to see if a chip was installed? That could be your last ultimate attempt since it sounds like you tried the other methods.
It was, of course very sweet of you to save that kitty.
That does not look like a five week old cat. Are you sure?
The orange one in the black chair is(was) 5 months old when we got her. Sorry for the mix-up.
btw, we are using Felliway, she is now permanently out of her sequestered room, and the cats are getting along better with moments of hijinks from the younger one (jump-scares of the older one mostly, trying to get a chase going)

I think my internet died as I was replying to this the first time and didn’t go through.
Yeah, checking for a chip was actually the first thing I tried.
She’s getting used to this being her new home I think.
They finally listened to me about social distancing.

@LMN8R, I saw your post from waaay back on losing two kittens to FIP. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I just went through it last week with Loki, my 5-year-old best buddy of a cat, and I was devastated. It’s such a terrible disease and it took him so quickly. (Loki is the black cat here.)
I still have my kitten Athena in the house, and from reading about FIP I think it’s unlikely she’ll have issues. But that was so hard to go through with Loki, and she’s so young and sweet, that I’m really nervous.
I hope Cody and Allison are still doing well, and that you never had any recurrence of FIP in the family. Given recent events, I wanted to check in.
