Did someone like Steve Irwin ever visit and pretend they were in the wild?
Someone a bit like Steve Irwin, yes, and for precisely the reason you mention. Of course, I can say no more.
Iām sorry @krazykrok, but this was the better answer.
In fact, Iām now looking forward to someone doing a movie with this as a plot point.
For those of you who donāt know,Steve Irwin, and most similar shows, did a lot of pretending, planting āfindsā and the likeā¦
Anyone remember āMutual of Omahaās Wild Kingdom?ā With Marlin Perkins? Heh.

For some reason I always associated Lorne Greene with that show but a quick search revealed that he had his own nature show.
In keeping with this thread, hereās an old (and terrible) picture of my pet.
I had to put her down eleven years ago and I havenāt been able to have another one since. Canāt go through that again. So I guess this is my pet now:

Iām reminded of this video:
Anyway, I should probably post a pet, given the thread.
I hear you. I had to put my shepherd down a couple of years ago; rips the heart out of you. But we always have dogs; as painful as the losses are, the joys they bring are worth it. But it is always so hard to say goodbye.

Gosh, thatās a beautiful dog. Iāve always told myself that Iād get another some day. I even have her named picked out already: Scout (named after Jean Louise Finch). I donāt think Iām quite ready yet, even after all of these years. But it will happen one day. I am sure of that.
Beautiful dog, Woolen. When I put down my 12 yr old shepherd last January, I was a wreck for days. But my wife and I are now total dog people, canāt live without them, so in anticipation for this we organised a line of succession by getting a Swiss shepherd puppy about a year earlier. She revitalised our old shepherd as well, but we still had an emotional lifeline when he had to go. Now we have a second Swiss shepherd (her son) and weāre set for the next decade. A friend of ours lost her Swiss shepherd a couple of days before our litter was 8 weeks old, so she had that direct emotional lifeline by taking on one of the puppies. I canāt imagine doing it any other way, the house is always dead when the dogs arenāt around.
Amen, brother. Here are my current beasts, though these were taken a year or two ago I think.
Going from a GSD to two standard poodles was interesting but Iām hooked now.
I would imagine poodles donāt shed as much! A good friend of ours in Maine has a goldendoodle, sheās pretty amazing. Looks a little like the dog on the right, but with smaller ears and a slightly longer nose.

Those little guys are awesome. They roll all up your arm and tongue tickle your ears. Thereās no need for a ladyfriend!
Tāis hilarious walking up to people who are scared of snakes and watching them realize whatās wrapped around your arm.
Sorry, freckles.
Iām not much for having snakes as pets (though I have owned lizards) but those snakes are very pretty. Thereās a certain grace and beauty, tinged with (even for non-venomous ones) a bit of danger. Great colors.
Those are both corn snakes (technically rat snakes), but there are so many āmorphā varieties that who the hell knows anymore, other than the breeders making money off it all. Back in the UK I used to have a ānaturalā corn snake (a la Lamalo), and an amelanistic corn snake (someoneās unwanted pet that I took on). If you want to see how crazy itās become, check this out: http://www.allaboutcornsnakes.com/corn_snakes.html (and that isnāt even all of them). They are really sweet snakes though, highly inoffensive.

It took me far too long to realise this wasnāt a disembodied/Photoshopped snake head!

Got a DSLR for Christmas. Learning how to use it.
Gizmo sleepy and annoyed.
Blerp.
Old pictures of my dog and cat. The dog is a Basenji mix. Not sure about the cat.
Have to take the dog into the vet on Monday. She may have a broken toe.
