Expansion for The Settlers Coming?
ESRB lists a brand new Settlers game, which suggests an add-on pack for last year’s Rise of an Empire.

April 18, 2008 - Is Ubisoft working on an expansion for The Settlers: Rise of an Empire? If the latest data from the Entertainment Software Rating Board is correct, this answer looks like yes. The ESRB, which is the ratings organization for most of the industry, has a recent addition to its listings: The Settlers: Rise of an Empire: The Eastern Realm.

Rise of an Empire was published last year, and it represented the latest in the long line of The Settlers series that stretches back over a decade. In it, you created medieval cities and economies in order to defeat an evil prince. The game’s settings shifted wildly, from medieval European-like settings to the frigid North (home of the Vikings) to the dry deserts of the South. The Eastern Realm suggests perhaps some kind of Asian or Oriental setting.

Ubisoft representatives were unavailable for comment late Friday, but we’ll look into this and try and confirm the ESRB’s listing as soon as possible.
